I get your point, but that's not what the word means. It just means the result or outcome of an action. The person doing the thing doesn't have to feel or even be aware of the consequences of their action.
Yeah, their reputation is based mostly on the fact that lots of people are afraid of them. They're big animals, and definitely can be aggressive, but they're not really a threat.

Their toughness gets severely overblown imo. I work in wildlife management, and we have to chase geese away from places all the time, sometimes even off their nests. I literally just got off a rooftop to scare some geese away. They're not so scary if you just decide that you're the bigger, scarier animal. Sometimes the brave ones will fly at me, I just stand my ground and protect myself, and eventually they'll back down.

I've had mine for 5 years with no issues. Taken it on some pretty long road trips to some fairly remote places. Infrastructure definitely needs improvement, gotta plan around that for long trips is all really. The pros far outweigh the cons for me. Affordability is another issue for many people, but that will be changing soon, in Canada at least.
