Schools are not allowed to preach or promote any religion. They are allowed to teach about a religion as long as they cover other religions
That does not give me much reassurance :/
As someone who is currently going to school to study to be a teacher, this is one of my biggest fears -- dealing with parents.

A children's book? Not so much. A book on pirates? Yes.
We names our little white Chihuahua Appa. It's the next best thing.
The first one reminds me of drawing random lines in MS Paint and going back in with the paint bucket with random colors
