I went to ER last month, chest pains, took them 12 hrs to figure out it was my gallbladder. I was in pain the ENTIRE TIME. They barely gave me any pain meds. I did not have surgery. Was released and scheduled surgery for a month later. The ER bill was about $20k, the surgery bill was $16k. I’m self-pay (no insurance). Absolutely crazy!! Expensive… but the care sucks too! Yay America
