Little sad how right he's turned out to be about everything half a decade later.

Can cult leaders inadvertently program themselves? If so, what are the long term consequences of this?

This is all obviously make-believe in real life, but I've been fascinated by using some of these ideas in a fantasy setting. One could a decent dnd campaign with a little world building (maybe something like Discworld),

I think one of the worst aspects of her behavior up to this moment is the frequency of this behavior from trump's admin. It happens so much, and is so horrible each time, that they know most people have some version of crisis fatigue. She reacts the way she does, in part, because she knows her political opponents and the media are going to react for a few days... and then it'll blow over. Then the next horrible thing will happen and in a few weeks no one will remember this.

She does a fair amount of cosplay and Let's Plays. That and her looks have garnered a decent following. Her support galvanized after an event at Twitchcon wherein some guy SA'd her out in the open (Twitch completely shit the bed on the matter), and after she opened up about abuse from a former boyfriend who was also a content creator.

So humans seek to make things longer, girthier, and meatier?

This is pretty old.

That being said, a fair bit of the hatred flung at the prequels was a bit much. And some of the good feelings towards the prequels comes from nostalgia and years of meme-ification. I'm curious what people will actually think of the sequel trilogy after 20 years of poking fun at it. We came around on the prequels, and at the time I don't think anyone thought that was likely.

A tremendous amount of time, money, and effort has gone into subsequent movies and tv series to take elements of episode 1-3 and expand upon them, make them more meaningful, or simply explain them. You can make any story better with enough effort, even if the original movies aren't all that great. Some of the content that exists as a direct extension of episodes 1-3 are good, AND ALSO Mr. Plinkett is right about most of his criticisms of those movies.

the internet, and were working adults when the absolute earliest residential computers or gaming consoles came out. Those are the people who natively know the oldest programming languages that modern software architectures still use.

This looks cool, but I think every generation has an aesthetic that they think is the best because it's linked to their childhood. I think that if there is anything genuinely unique about millennials' experience, it's that we were the first entire generation to have a well defined identity immediately before and after the onset of the internet, which changed whole swaths of our civilization. I mention "entire" because some of the gen x'ers were young enough to be some of the true OG's of [1/2?]

He's half-assedly figured out that 2 weeks is the time it takes for the news cycle to move and for people to generally forget that he made a bullshit promise. He helps things along by committing approximately 7892347890234 new crimes against humanity each day during that 2 weeks.

I kinda like the idea of an FTL drive powered by god-blood. Seems like it would make a decent writing prompt.

I think republicans heard democrats on social media referring to "all accusations made by republican leaders are just projections" and decided, without understanding what was being said, to just lob that same accusation back at the left.

Good: all streets and side walks cleared of snow.
Bad: people found out just how much dog walkers thought they could get away with not picking up their animal's poop. The image still bothers me.

Shut the whole thing down, put up an "out of order" sign with some cones, collect the driver's information, go home, enjoy peace while it lasts.

"Get off your fucking phone", vast oversimplification of where the problem is and what needs to be done. The men, and maybe some women, who fall in this category almost live in a different reality now. It will take long term, sustained effort from everyone in the lives of the people. It will prolly require help from the government to keep the influence of big tech at bay. This may be the most important part, and also the one least likely to happen.

When I first read about Doug Ford, it what about his drug abuse and outlandish behavior. For him to sober up enough to bluntly speak truth to power in this way is staggering.
