It's honestly the same for speeding, if you're aggressively speeding, going a consistent 70mph on a 60mph road, if your destination is a 30 minute drive away, then your reckless driving is going to at best, get you there in 26 minutes assuming you can keep up a constant speeding without delay. Risking the lives of yourself and others just to get there 4 minutes quicker. It's such a minor, insignificant gain for such a pointless risk.
They've done studies that generally suggest overtaking and passing on the road generally only gets you to your destination less than 30 seconds faster because you'll all be mutually stopped at junctions/turns/crossings. I had a guy pull a dangerous, illegal overtake on a roundabout cutting across me and 30 minutes later, the same guy was still right infront of me at a traffic light stop, that life-risking maneuver gained him 10ft of distance as he was 2nd in the line instead of 3rd.
