Add that to the fact that, as you said, he genuinely seems like a wonderful person, it’s a stunning combination. Unlike spectacularly-acted flawed characters—think macho hero roles with problematic behaviors—whose actors we discover played them so well because they were also flawed in the same way, Keanu Reeves seems to be able to play such a macho flawed action character without being one himself. That juxtaposition is proof of how good an actor he is, and simultaneously is VERY attractive.
I have to disagree with you there. Since I’m pretty sure he’s not actually a gun-slinging assassin, nor does he naturally present that vibe as a person (not in his physique, his facial expressions, his behavior, etc), his acting is spectacular in John Wick. Sure, his emotional range is no Gary Oldman, but to diss his skills as an actor without factoring in how spectacularly he succeeds in BECOMING a character is in imo a rather flawed approach.
