It depends on the department. Mine collects DNA and prints at every car burg. It's up to the detectives to request analysis.

Check the ships, see what matches, and then get the pawn receipts or video for follow up. That is, if the department isn't super swamped.
Don't do this. Any sketchy pawn worker will then tell the seller the stuff is stolen and they will street sell. The police usually 1/2
