Brit on the hoof in and around Europe and Australasia. Anti-Brexit, pro being decent to one and other without politicising it. Likes dogs and cats. No. Loves dogs. Embracing my inner nerd despite years of friends and family “sci-fi shaming me”. So grateful to Imgurians for making me feel “normal” despite (what appears increasingly to me to be my) common or garden undiagnosed ADHD. If it’s fluffy, witty, silly or original, it’ll make me smile…… sounds like I’m jonesing for Oscar Wilde’s willy in a cravat… but no, I just like harmless fun. Thank you for making me feel it’s ok to be a tad uneven in my skill set…eg, “unusually observant”, whilst being utter toot at time mgt. The considerable resolve I gain from reading other people’s “solved a problem creatively, got sneered at for being weird” stories has been (and I am not exaggerating) life saving.

Good point. The environment matters. Maybe in US, when the underdogs’ needs were merely overlooked, or as you said, when they were preyed upon by LEOs, an alternative “enforcement” seemed better than none.

Sometimes Mafia were “smart”, (not kind, good or heroic) ensuring they didn’t milk their cash cows to death.

The current administration could benefit from the same approach. IE: I can’t hope they’ll become “not evil”, but maybe just “smart” (as above), caring for the herd they milk.

Agreed.

You can be overwhelmingly evil and still have done a constructive, good thing. It’s the juxtaposition that makes it notable, rather than laudable.

It was said that the Mafia attracted esp focus because they directly competed with the government. Eg: Pay us protection money, we’ll keep thieves away vs pay your taxes, police may show up after the robbery.

It’s in case he’s fed after midnight

Weird . I got metal puzzzles, too. But we’re all agreed, right? That guy’s behaviour is grotesque - esp since you can tell it’s not his first time - 🤢

He’s one of Orbán’s “arch enemies”, so there are instances when he’s the exemplar of “the enemy of my enemy is my friend.”

It’s a kind of Duplo-macy

Brit here. Please excuse my ignorance cousins on the North American continent, but does this chap sound a little like a Letterkenny character?

The Gravy SEALS withdraw, guarding their 7.

Drive-by stabbings aren’t too common.
Were you missing “/s”. I can’t tell

Agree - The GIF lasts between 2-7hrs. The mods are not people anymore, I believe that’s part of the reason for the heavy handed, seemingly uneven blocking and deleting of posts.
But, since Business Daddy worries about liability geoblocking is a sledgehammer solution.

I hope it’s a short term thing until they figure out if their mod function is enough to satisfy their legal requirement, and reinstate UK access.

I think it’s the other way round - Imgur geo blocked Uk because despite heavy handed modding they still can’t be sure to abide by the No R-rated/ 18+ porn requirement of the new (clumsy as hell) law.

This UK law is new - maybe the clunky response from Imgur is due to the legal dept having a knee-jerk?

My colleague tells me he can access from UAE, despite their porn restrictions…

NB new UK law is not as restrictive as many other nations still able to access Imgur.

Agreed. Further evidenced by the way it was implemented (zero communication), and by the fact that the modding here is heavy handed and clumsy, yet still doesn’t cover Business Daddy’s arse to meet “no porn” minimum.

Clumsy, over-zealous, soul-striping modding on here is still not fit for (stopping NSFW /porn) purpose?

We haven’t “found out” anything. A guy has been accused by the police; trial is pending

6 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Agreed. I totally f*ed up my post, but the sentiment is the same: can we wait for the verdict, please?

6 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Thank you

6 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Please., could we wait until the trial brings a verdict before we state he “is” the person who shot Trump?

I think the references in the diner scene to the Last Supper also back this up.

Eurostat EU COMMISION , Euronews, money week, ONS. Gov.uk.

These all state uk prices were 19% higher than EU Average.
Germany was 37% higher than EU average. DK IRL, BEL all are higher than 19%.

As far as other comments here, there are some here that support the above findings, too.

Germany, Ireland and Denmark pay more for household electricity, and others are similar to UK.
Also, Netherlands, Belgium, Czech Rep, Hungary, Poland and Germany all have worse polluting levels for rivers.

The statements in OP’s post aren’t accurate.

Gloating is ignored by the Brexiteers and just further disaffects us EU-philes.

You are correct as far as TV is concerned. Large head relative to shoulder width is more telegenic, apparently. (It’s an especially noticeable trait in news anchors from 1960’s onwards.)
