Say something about yourself

He was a stubborn egomaniac who refused to admit when he was wrong. Then again, you don't start an entirely new field of scientific research by caring too much about what normal people think of you.

A lot of it is just the cultural context for when it was created as well. Fight Club was extremely impactful in the late 90s when mainstream America was just beginning to become disenchanted with 1980s consumerism. Nowadays criticizing consumer culture isn't exactly a hot take anymore.

It's just conceptually bad. Police are not the only thing protecting society. Healthcare workers, firefighters, social workers, the military, water engineers, bus drivers, city planners and even freaking trash collectors give their blood, sweat and tears to keep society together. It's a dangerous hero fantasy that can be used to justify violence against anyone cops determine is the "bad guy".

The best answer is reusable plastic bags. All the durability and low manufacturing carbon footprint of plastic, but used repeatedly until it can be recycled

Even with the spear. Depending on if the man doesn't get ambushed and knows how to use a spear right. Just brace the spear when the tiger charges and use the tigers mass against it

#26 people who are brutally honest tend to care more about brutality than honesty

Kincora Boy's Home btw was a orphanage in Northern Ireland that was renting out children for sexual abuse. The UK government attempted to cover it up, and still only admits to three staff members at the orphanage being responsible. It doesn't take a lot of reading to see that MI5 blocked multiple official investigations into the allegations in 1982 and 1984 and that there were some powerful people who were customers there according to testimonies of the survivors.

It's not without evidence. Between the cameras being turned off, the guards' nightly routine suddenly changing, Epstein's thyroid bone being broken in three places and burst capillaries on Epstein's eyes and mouth which is a sign that Epstein was strangled more force and a harder material than his bedsheet and body could provide. Not to mention that several forensic examiners doubting it. It's a conspiracy theory for sure, but it's more with the Kincora Boy's Home conspiracy than Big Foot

He did cheat on his wife with his cousin. Dunno what that has to do with his scientific contributions or political beliefs at all.

Healthcare in America is already dependent on your employment. Slaves were given treatment based on their ability to make profit for their owners.

I think that was the point. To show on just how much of a different level Luke is compared to Din.

Racism isn't evil, because evil is just a concept. Racism is real, and it's in everyone. It's really important to pay attention to yourself and honestly ask yourself why you feel certain ways about certain things. Your "preferences" might come from a very scary place.

Democracy is specifically a system for how to manage the public good, and to negotiate the details of our collective social contract. Whether or not your neighbor believes in your God doesn't affect you in any way, so it's not the public's problem.

Ugh, I don't like this. Fuck Nazis, but bullying people for their appearance is probably what made them a Nazi in the first place

Better to say, "Pay attention to your feelings, breathe, then respond with logic". Don't just dissociate or become reactive

Egh, sort of. Cancelling is an issue when used as an excuse to bully people, but not wanting to feature the art of a racist isn't cancelling

Not really out of nowhere, GOT when it was good, was really big on consequences. Break an oath for love and get killed

Then why does his precaution reflect on him? He wasn't criticizing the precaution he was saying it is okay to test the number

Longbow was better in every way, but took years to learn. Even when guns got better bayonets we're used regularly because of gun inaccuracy

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Not at first, not at all. Early guns had a range of 30 feet, no accuracy, and exploded regularly. But you could learn in it in a week 1

The rare earth elements for solar panels must be mined as well. Entropy demands that nothing is perfectly clean, just clean enough

Nuclear is nonrenewable in the same sense that solar is nonrenewable because the sun will eventually burn out.

I don't think fossil fuel did as much damage as Chernobyl and 3 Mile Island. People see big disasters not many incremental improvements

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Plus, building a dam requires disrupting an entire ecosystem. It's nonrenewable because there are only so many rivers and deltas
