He unknowingly purchased "hot load" 50 cal rounds (more gunpowder / propellant than normal) so the pressure was way beyond what his gun could handle and it exploded. He is thanking God for surviving, but I would be wondering why God would let me do that in the first place if he loved me. I know I wouldn't knowingly let my child do that and I am "only" human
