That's not really fair. The conditions aren't nearly the same. I feel like this kind of thinking is a bit disingenuous.
I was at a very liberal party school that was going through an identity crisis due to an influx in reported rape/sexual assault.
I made my statement in a plain monotone kind of way, students immediately piled on, professor told me to get out for being insensitive.
I was asked to leave a Poli-sci class in college for suggesting that very thing.
