dont get a dog then. really grinds my gears when people get dogs and dont want to take care of them. same with kids.
we ONLY use the furminator when the coat starts to blow out, like this video. otherwise it doesn't work for malamutes.

anyone worried about regular shedding shouldnt get a northern dog
Not true This is called "blowing coat" & if you brush 20 mins every day the extra coat will be gone in a month. Source: my malamute/samoyeds

Graduated HS in 2006. They would regularly search lockers and do sweeps in the parking lot with drug dogs. I live in VA - It's not illegal
