Just a GenX nerd, muddling through life and pretending I know what's going on.
You've made my day! I used to play this game with a friend, and was struggling to remember last week "what was the name of that stupid game?" And, here we are :-D
Oh, nothing that silly. Just me talking to the camera about a new project.
I'm starting a new thing, a more welcoming and inclusive tech community. IE: let's help each other out instead of trying to prove how smart we are.https://youtu.be/i-DqrikW4uQ?si=m-J4j64oeyZT30to
Thank you!
I suffer from that wonderful disease known as "supposedly, at one point, someone declared me to be gifted and/or talented" so for most of my life, I've done the "if it's not perfect the first time, it's complete crap and you should never try it again" thing, and _that's_ what I'm actually working on.
For something I spent almost a year theorizing about and thinking about, and hemhawing about, but not actually doing anything about, I'm actually kind of excited I did the thing.
What I've learned most in the uh... 43 minutes since it went live is: what I really need to work on is taking some time between cuts. Like, 10 seconds to sit still and breathe would have made the whole thing easier to cut together.
Honestly, watching the finished product, what I've really got to work on is "when you know you need to re-shoot, more than a quarter second between takes" It's full pretty quick cuts that are.. jarring.
<3 Thank you!
I should have phrased my question more carefully, I didn't mean to imply "you could do it if you really wanted to" .. because, I don't know what I don't know, thanks for the answers!
Out of curiosity: what things can you not find a Linux equivatlent for? I've been full time Linux for 25ish years, and can't recall anything in the past 10 years that I couldn't do because I don't have a Windows installation.
there's a joke to be made about "sometimes == part-time" here, I just know it.
Some more context, it's specifically Walton Goggins playing a character named Venus Van Dam on Sons of Anarchy. A really well played and written character.
I saw that, and immediately went to the comments, looking for a link to the shirt. https://www.teepublic.com/t-shirt/12798-pork-chop-sandwiches
This is like... second generation "person I definitely didn't vote for" isn't it?
No, no, gosh people... Participle is when you _do_ something. Like, it's a fancy word you use when you want to sound fancy. Like, "I participle in a bowling league on Tuesdays"
I too, am stuck on "professional" job. Because it has no _legal_ definition, IMO it's a word that can be whatever the asshole using it to their advantage wants it to mean. I prefer the definition used when I was a kid: as soon as you start getting paid for it, you're a professional. So, everything she (or you, or me, or anyone else) has ever been paid to do, you've done as a professional.
Hmmmmphhhh, I think your personal trainer is about as qualified as he needs to be, and possibly more qualified than a lot of the self-styled personal trainers I know :-D Plus, he is indeed handsome, and I'd commit crimes on his behalf.
even more than that, it teaches (some, not all) that when you find someone who's giving, kind and altruistic, that you're obligated to take advantage of them. It's so much more than anti-altruism, it's "hey, we found a weak one, how do we maximize return on that?"
I feel the need to point out, that's directly pulled from an episode of M*A*S*H.
Correction. "Dogs are the best" nothing else necessary.
Yeah, don't you know she means _those_ immigrants. You know which those. _Those_ thoses....
I can _maybe_ buy the need for cameras (I don't, but let's pretend for a second....) but why, for the love of everything, does a damn robot vacuum need a microphone. Someone, much, much smarter than me, explain that.
My lifelong goal has always been to die in such a way that at least one person, upon hearing about my cause of death will say "Hold on, go back. He did what?"
Listen, unknown stranger: I promise there is someone, somewhere that's glad you have made it thus far.
Much like the other responses you're getting: I turned 50 at my last birthday, I didn't plan to make it nearly this far. As my dad (and, others, I'm sure) have said "If I'd known I was going to live this long, I'd have taken better care of myself"
I have a 3 piece suit of the same material :-D
I can't give a straight answer to that one. I've got an Ibanez that I picked up in a pawn shop in the late 90s. I'm not much of a banjo picker, it was more of an impulse buy for me, so while I like mine just fine, I can only compare it to how I'd judge it based on guitar standards (and, by those comparisons, it's "pretty good") I too, am more of a guitar player than anything else, I replied to the first comment meaning to say "don't just say that looks hard, if you want to play something, do it"
