This is super common in NZ haha, really nice snack with cheese on top ^.^
As a soon to be highschool chemistry teacher, do you have any advice on how to avoid this common stigma around male teachers?
It's from a YouTube channel "Whatever", it's a social experiment/prank involving a fake baby and balloons
That's much less depressing haha, I will make a more colourful happier version later in the year
Thank you! I used a ruler for them, so kinda cheating
Fear not biologist , we're all friends here
This was Bicyclo[2,2,1]hept-5-en-2,3-dicarboxylic anhydride (mixture of endo and exo) liquid is PET ether
I'd love to swim there, it that flowing into or out of the giant lake?
Ayy, it was supposed to be a double acylation but it didn't work out
Thanks man! If you check out my other posts I also make electrocatalysts and colloids in my big boy lab ;)
Aww <3 1% yield is better than no product at all, can still get an NMR off 1%
Not very much :3 I had gloves on mostly because the flask was super hot, the actual complex is only a mild irritant
Really simple, the nucleophillic ferrocene attacks the acetyl chloride which got activated by the trichloro alumina
So this pattern came about by me drying the solvent it was in really quickly. As a powder not pretty at all haha. It's got an iron centre :)
In terms of practical uses, not many. It's a really great complex for demonstrating reactions as it's very stable and easy to make
Acyl chloride with aluminum trichloride, mixed with ferrocene
The asteroid belt is still 99.99% empty space, chances are you won't hit anything at all moving through it
Roughly how old was she @OP? Currently in Chch too wondering if it was worth asking around my friend group at uni
Whatchu growing op?
Coloured because it has red crystals evolving in it
Doesn't everyone have massive containers of chloroforms lying around?
The silver smells like burnt toast (kinda). Lemme go check what the chloroform smells like
Can someone please explain how the 'still born?' Had tiny 'piglets' inside her
Checking out the open day, + the campus is amazing, they have a university owned botanic garden
I'm not too sure, a huge new science is being built right now which means top quality physics labs. I would highly recommend 1/2
Solvent evaporated off under vacuum in a round bottomed flask, the red is a gold cluster
It is!! hopefully the red is a gold cluster I made, no idea why it formed the series of shapes though
Gold clusters with the central core consisting of 11 gold atoms
Absolutely! But we love it at the same time
Impurities in my product :(
