Certain school districts don't allow it. It's not a nationwide thing. I'd be surprised if there is even a statewide ban.
I mean that depends on how you define control. Some consider control as a ban on AR15 like rifles. Others want intense background checks.

Canadian Bill C16. IIRC he claims not using desired pronouns could be viewed as discriminating against gender identity by the bills wording
