The worried look on my host family's face was hilarious, probably because of the dramatic pause, but my hostmom figured out that I meant.
I forgot the word for volcano in Japanese. I paused mid sentence, thought for a while, and calmy said "Icelands mountains have exploded" (3)
The reason was because, at the time, a volcano had erupted in Iceland which led to the grounding of flights and massive delays. (2)
My "oshit what's that called again?" moment was in Japan. I was trying to explain why flights back to Europe were unavailable/expensive (1)
Dark island = Mörkö
The most disturbing thing with this gif is that I can smell it.
I'd say it's in one of the Balkan countries like Croatia, Bosnia/Hercegocina, Slovenia or Serbia
