Update: it’s quite a while after this, the company made some dumb decisions, panicked and hired me back with a full-time contract.

Had a few students do similar things, you did all the guidance would allow you to do. You most likely saved a life.

Had a student of mine not understand that I was a vegetarian. Then asked if chicken was considered vegetarian.
At least two other family members and myself have them. I always get asked "Why did you get your ears pierced there?!".
