Attendance figures should be interesting. I wonder when they will start selling tickets cheap so they don't have lots of empty seats?

Yep. It was Campbell who created the "sexed up" Iraq WMD dossier that the UK and US used to justify the war.

It's a lot easier to stand in a train pissing out the window than it is to run along the platform trying to piss in.

And Amy Adams was in an episode of the Buffy TV series, playing Tara's cousin.

Just to be pedantic, NI was introduced for and pays for the state pension. The NHS is funded from general taxation, so income tac, fuel duty, VAT, corporate tax etc all help pay for the NHS.

In the UK my mother had cataracts done at Moorfields, a world class eye hospital. She had to pay £5 for parking. My last trip to A+E (the UK ER) cost me 80p, which was the coffee I bought in the twenty minute wait to be seen.

Other sources call him British. Hearing him say "Oh f*ck" he sounds very much British, not Irish, to me.

British, kidnapped by Irish pirates as a child and taken back to Ireland and kept as a slave before he escaped back to Britain. He returned years later to spread Christianity.

A few years ago there was a company that did an African safari in a Catalina. You'd fly from Egypt down to South Africa stopping at various lakes and airstrips on the way, flying low enough to watch the wildlife.

The majority of people in the North want to remain in the UK. Half my family is from there, and I have an Irish passport, and I have see the many streets and houses painted red white and blue, with the Union Jack, murals of the Queen etc. The people of NI have the right to vote to leave the UK. They could do it any time they wanted. They could do it right now if they wanted. But the majority want to stay in the UK.

He starred in a UK TV series called Ultraviolet. A "hard science" vampire show about the cops who fought them. It starred Jack Davenport, of Pirates Of The Caribbean fame. Worth checking out. You could see he had a real presence on the screen.

To be really really generous to Trump, it MIGHT be that he was asked something like "What do you think about Newsome running for President" in which case his replies talking about him as President would make sense. But Trump says a ton of dumb shit endlessly so even if this is excused he's still a dumbass.

If you look at modern developments in the UK any decent sized new housing development is required to include footpaths, cycle paths, bus routes and stops, green spaces and a hub with at least a few stores, pharmacy, restaurant and often also a doctors and a primary (elementary) school. They have to ensure all the new houses are in walking distance to stores, bus stops etc. My experience with modern American developments suggests this is not the case there.

Yep. The "lifespan" of solar panels is the time that they still produce 90% of their original output. They lose less than 1% per year. Some people think that means "25 year lifespan" means after 25 years they are useless and have to be replaced. In reality they will usually generate power for many years after that. Free electricity. The inverter is usually what needs replacing but they are generally far cheaper and easier to replace.

A lot of that "help" was the UK buying, and paying for, equipment and supplies from US manufacturers. It wasn't the US helping for moral reasons. The P-51 Mustang for example only existed because the UK ordered it from a US manufacturer to UK specs.

Skimmed milk is sold in stores only because the occupying Nazi forces took all the good milk for themselves and made the occupied Dutch people drink skimmed milk, that had previously been considered only fit for animal feed. After the war enough Dutch people had got used to it so it was kept on the shelves.

In the UK they qualify as doctors and then train as surgeons. On qualifying they are then "Mr Smith" or "Mrs Smith". They take pride in not being "mere" doctors. Though there are some now calling for this to change.

I wasn't disagreeing with you. Spain is ideal. Big enough for high speed rail to be useful, low enough population density to be able to build high speed tracks, enough people in the cities to justify high speed rail.
