Seen it several times on NBC News’ website. Someone linked a Bloomberg story right here in the comments. But people love the outrage at a story “not getting covered.”
I don’t follow.
What would that be?
Gore only asked for recounts in select contested counties, where Bush ultimately prevailed. The only way Gore would have won was an all-state recount, which he was never even considering. OP is telling a lie of omission.I also loathe Bush, but I believe in telling the truth.
That was taken out of context. He said that he introduced the legislation that moved the Internet from being this military/tech university thing to what it is today. The full quote is out there if you’re interested.
They did, in the counties that Gore was calling for recounts in. Gore only would have won if he had called for an all-state recount, which wasn’t even being considered by him.
A really weird part is that it wasn’t even set up like that. It was just supposed to be “everyone elects special representatives to cast their vote for president.” Then it mutated into “The rep just says exactly who they’ll vote for, which led to “we have 50 sub-elections where the current whims of a handful of states decides everything.”
You left out the most important part: Gore only asked for recounts in select contested counties, where Bush ultimately prevailed. The only way Gore would have won was an all-state recount, which he was never even considering. OP is telling a lie of omission.I also loathe Bush, but I believe in telling the truth.
It's a lame attempt to put Trump "on the ballot." It won't work unless Dems start openly talking about it, which most of them aren't dumb enough to do.
As of this moment, there aren't even enough seats considered to be in play for *any* Dems to take even a simple majority. That said, if the economy keeps getting worse, that could easily change by next November.
No, the Constitution explicitly says that you need a 2/3rds majority of the Senate to vote for removal. The filibuster doesn't come into play here.
No, they couldn't get rid of Trump for the same amount of money. No way in hell are they going to get 2/3rds of the Senate to vote to remove him as long as his cult is even half-strong in the red states.
You try to give even rank-and-file ones facts and they just switch to trolling.Schrödinger s dbag type 2: Someone who both is and isn’t taking the debate seriously until they start losing.
Or just completely mentally checked out, which might be worse.
That ain’t just any dancing.
I assume that Waffle Stop is a knockoff of Waffle House, so yes. We’ll also accept Huddle House and independent 24-hour diners.
Uh, I was more thinking about “wow, I was expecting her to strongly prefer women after that video.”
I’m mostly just surprised that most of her IG posts that I can see without logging in are her dancing with a man.
Sorry, Chicago’s NFL team!
I need that line about how they want us to give up from cynicism in meme format, stat!
There's also so busy fawning over Satan and Donald's forthcoming baby.
You ask these people for something specific that liberals were offended by, and it’s either crickets or something like kids in cages. Meanwhile the same people lose it over the Cracker Barrel logo.
LOL, it was a dish towel!
Back in the 90s or so, liberals didn’t go as far as to call something racist or otherwise bigoted, they just said it was “offensive.” Conservatives jumped on the “LOOK AT ME I’M SO OFFENSIVE!” horse and never got off. Being people who are mostly stuck in the 20th century, they’re still using phrasing from then. They think they’re owning us libs good by using our totes contemporary phrasing against us.TL;DR- “Offensive” is a holdover from 30 years ago that mental dinosaurs in the GOP use.
The very definition of enshittification.
The point is that Middle Eastern history goes back way, way farther.
Yeah, but Middle Eastern history stretches all the way back to Ur, around 6,500 BC. The UK, for example, barely remembers the Romans.
Reading about the Middle East, it dawned on me that they can say “And Europeans think 1,000 years is a long time.”
100 bonus points if the music was actually playing in real life.
