It's got a snorkel on its dorsal fin...it only gets about a foot under water.

Isn't most pro-level camera gear waterproof, or water sealed? I'm not sure any of the equipment would even be damaged...

To reduce pen loss, just keep the pen caps behind the bar in a box. Most people don't want to put an un-capped pen in their pocket/purse.
Also, not sure why you went with 12 Guage Romex... Most light circuits are 15 amp, only need 14 Guage...
All junction boxes need to be accessible and Romex needs to be secured entering the box. If case was narrower could have used original box.
