I was expecting the dummy to turn out to be cake...

The chaps are more comfortable... and easier to get on and off. ?

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Barely touched the leg, leg barely touched, what a surprise!

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Per the manufacturer do these pants also protect against zombie bites

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This really grinds my gears

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Could you imagine destroying your pants and saw with just one go!

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Better a scrape than your whole leg.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No one tell the evil dead!

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Why does that one tag have more than one post?

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Why don't they make the whole plane out of these pants?

4 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

There's a vid of a dude doing it to his own leg should be on YouTube

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I have these! Cost $50 to save your leg! Extremely worth it! My wife's boss didn't, and almost amputated a limb.

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

You'll still have a bad day, just infinitely better than it would otherwise be.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

My dad once cut through his pants with the chainsaw, I thought he was wearing sweats, but it was shredded denim jeans.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Kiss my ass, Leatherface

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Now use a ballistic gel dummy. Or a watermelon

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

At events, they use a sack of ketchup to scare the idiots who don't like to put on chaps in the first place.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Looks like something this guy needs https://i.redd.it/vui0pd071pkz.jpg

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

“It didn’t protect the leg 100%. It’s a failure! Why bother? It’s basically a hoax! I’m gonna stop other people from wearing these!”

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Now do it with jeans...my neighbor says his jeans will do the same thing. Thinking I need to have my phone ready when he's chainsawing.

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

probably ruins the chainsaw, but a new chainsaw is cheaper than a new leg.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Doesn’t ruin it, but you do have to remove the blade and chain to clean.

4 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Just takes a while to clean out depending on how much you get in there, not ruined at all.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My dad could have used a pair of those back in the day! He’s got a trio of nasty scars above the knee where a chainsaw hit his thigh.

4 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Why didn’t he stop after the first cut though?

4 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Haha I asked him the same thing

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Chaps, they are called Chaps. Designed to shred into strings that get pulled into the chainsaw choking it off.

4 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 2

I bought my father a pair a few years back. Had to replace them after a similar incident one winter.

4 years ago | Likes 46 Dislikes 1

Better to replace pants than limbs.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Sounds like money well spent!

4 years ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 0

Where can you get them?

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

need testing on live conscious human, maybe the manufacturer rep or salesman

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I'd like to see a video where the chainsaw itself (not just the spinning chain) is moving a little faster rather than this gentle lean-into.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

also longer blade so it has PLENTY of motion before it clogs

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It cut his dick off.

4 years ago | Likes 134 Dislikes 0

I was hoping I didn't have to see the dummies dick

4 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

I was afraid it would be dummy thicc

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You didn’t!

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Hey, I have some of these! They are hot as ballz, but it’s worth the peace of mind.

4 years ago | Likes 733 Dislikes 0

That's why I like the chaps. At least I can get some airflow

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Never would have worked a second without them and my shoes. Luckily we mostly worked in the winter.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Man up and just wear some hot boy short shorts

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Same. After years of good luck decided it was time

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Difference between you driving yourself to the ER, and a medevac.

4 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

that was gonna be my question to anyone who'd worn them. +1

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

hang your balls outside for easy cooling

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And possibly your balls

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They’ve saved my leg before

4 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Watched a guy on my crew drop his running saw onto his thigh. Had chaps. Not a scratch. Easily could've died that day without.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Family friend died like that when I was a kid, never use it without a shittonne of protecting..

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Same. Even the uppers on my boots are lined with the same Kevlar threads. Knock on wood I haven’t needed them yet.

4 years ago | Likes 110 Dislikes 0

No, you're supposed to use the chainsaw on wood. Silly lumberjacks. No wonder you haven't needed them. ?

4 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

How much do they cost ????

4 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

You can get chaps for around 100 but the more expensive ones have air vents and are wicked comfy in the right temperature

4 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

It varies pretty dramatically, mine were about $450, but you can get some chaps for less than $100

4 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

Less than an arm and a leg

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

you need the chaps, my dude. Nothing says sexy safety like wearing bright orange assless chaps and no pants

4 years ago | Likes 90 Dislikes 1

And leave my ass unprotected from violent horny chainsaws? No thank you

4 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Up a tree none the less. People look up and say wow what a lovely moon.

4 years ago | Likes 44 Dislikes 0

.....while cutting down trees. I feel like this is a gay Canadian calendar already.. if not.. holy shit will we make money gents.

4 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 1

It's not gay if it involves lumber, maple syrup, hockey, or a sugar shack.

4 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Call it the "Lumber Jacking It" calendar.

4 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

4 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Yow! That looks like it hurt!

4 years ago | Likes 38 Dislikes 3

Better a lil chunk taken out of the leg than the whole leg taken off

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But it will bleed a little less than a teared femoral artery.

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

He'll walk it off.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah, that mannequin needs a raise.

4 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Muuuch better than the alternative!

4 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Well I can tell you it hurts more when you do not have these pants. I nicked my knee ~10years ago and still have a 1½inc reminder of it.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'll take a scrape and having to buy new pants instead of losing my leg any day.

4 years ago | Likes 44 Dislikes 0

Gonna need more than new pants you’re going to need to get some new underwear

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Not if you got brown underwear

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Pretty sure if I was involved in a chainsaw accident I'd be pooping blood.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So imagine if they were wearing just jeans and it went right in.

4 years ago | Likes 61 Dislikes 0

They still do go through. Just turns it from a "OH FUCK!" cut to a "oh fuck!" cut

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My dad did this twice before he started wearing chaps. He was a lumberjack. Also died at work so I guess he wasn't the model of safety

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Even when you're being safe, logging is still very dangerous work.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

To the bone, ugh.

4 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Through the bone, ugh.

4 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

To the twilight zone, ugh.

4 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Bed bath and *BEYOND*!

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

When the chainsaw hits the bone... ugh.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Did the blade stop because it got tangled with the white threads or could it keep running?

4 years ago | Likes 211 Dislikes 1

Are you serious?

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

it tangles everything up here's what the insides look like when it happens v

4 years ago | Likes 47 Dislikes 0

Yep, but you will probably drop the clutch while throwing the chainsaw away from the pain

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Probably the way the pants are designed to tangle up and engage the clutch

4 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 1

The design of these chaps are to do exactly that. Shred into strings that get pulled into the chainsaw choking it off.

4 years ago | Likes 112 Dislikes 1

Sounds like a good thing to have these shreds in place of pocket sand in case you get in a chainsaw fight.

4 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Except if it is a battery chainsaw, only works on ICE chainsaws

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 7

They will stop any chainsaw, does not matter.

4 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Why won't it work with battery? If it jams up the chain at the brake then it shouldn't matter what is driving the mechanism

4 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Looks like Kevlar.

4 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 1

Apart from Kevlar is yellow, and these are white. They can be made from polyester, Avertic, ballistic nylon or Kevlar.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

it is. just not the bullet proof kind.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I think it tangles them enough so it stalls the motor. Might not work on an electric saw.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

physics baby

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

They've stalled out my electric chainsaw in the past

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It might similar, you can burn out an electric motor if the load is much greater than its torque

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

An electric motor will stop if there is enough pressure keeping it from running, these will do it. More chance to burn the motor out.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Why not an electric? They aren't as powerful if my understanding is correct.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Electric can’t stall, but usually they’d have a cutoff if the blade was stopped dead

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

To be pedantic: No blade. Chain on a guide bar driven by a sprocket. Just being geeky though

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Many blades?

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Technically they're chain mounted chisels. Saying "blade" around a chainsaw is the quickest way to trigger a logger lol

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Chisels are a type of blade?

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's like calling a bus a motorbike. Both have wheels but they're not the same, Chain, guide bar, sprocket.
