You should still have roof vents but if there isn't an overhang then there's no way of installing then until you extend them
That's called a gable vent, depends on the age of the house and how it was built. Soffits are a lot better because there is better airflow

Same in Canada, teachers are paid so well it kind of ridiculous. Starting salary of 60k most teacher I know make over 80k. Houses are $$ tho

Not sure where you live but the daycare workers in Toronto are paid well. Friends girlfriend earns 26$ an hour with a 2 year college diploma
I don't get how people sleep sharing 1 comforter. I've learned a long time ago from my parents it doesn't end well.
I worked 80+ hours a week as an electrical apprentice. Construction work all day, 12 + hours a day. 55 is nothing

As a home inspector I greatly advise you to hire a home inspector to inspect for whatever warranty comes comes with the house
