I don't know why People feel a need to preface saying something positive about someone who died with a negative. I see it all the time.

I don't need subs for TV but I certainly do for video games. Usually need to turn down non-dialogue volume too to about 80%

Having excess dead string around the peg can mess with tuning stability, and also make it harder to actually turn the peg bc it's in the way
The 'live' part of the string in place, giving you good tuning stability. You clip any excess string after it's tuned up and done. (C)
When you string a guitar, generally you only want 2 or maybe 3 winds of the string around the tuning peg. One under, others over to lock (c)
