And it’s time for bed. Because I am back at it tomorrow! Merry Christmas. Have a safe rest of your shift!
We are a small dispatch center. We generally pull together to make it work for each other. I have been doing this for about 16 1/2 years.
Now it’s three on, two off. Two on, three off. But if someone calls in sick, you could get stuck staying late. And coming back the next day.
Ours was six on, three off. 51-hour weeks. Short weeks. You could bank the comp as vacation. Just had to have enough to cover short weeks.
Now it is 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM. I took that as I really did want to work overnights. But I am NOT a morning or day person at all. Lol.
We switched to 12s. I’m not a fan. But we get every other weekend off I guess. I had worked 2:30 PM - 11 PM forever. I liked that shift.
Also a dispatcher. I have the luxury of being off today. Merry Christmas to you! Hopefully it wasn’t too terrible today…?

My dad worked. Mom was stay-at-home. We always had enough. Just not real well-off.
You have to add a small can of tomato paste. And water. That’s it.
I am. They also made the Egg Noodle Dinner. That was also pretty damn tasty. Those two box dinners were a weekly thing at my house.
