It's specifically the beta-alanine in the formula. If you get formulas that don't have that in it you won't itch. It's not an important chemical to feeling energized it generally added to give people the feeling of being energized but doesnt actually give any energy itself. It has positive effects on endurance but only if taken over very long periods of time in higher than comfortable doses for most people. Overall you should skip preworkouts that use this chemical if it makes you uncomfortable

I've found that using the brass sponge set up instead of a wet sponge makes soldering a much more pleasant experience
