I was having horrible dreams after my Dad passed. One night I had one that was so vivid and real of him telling me it's time to move along-1

These guys make my skin crawl...but I also love and respect them. It's a complicated relationship.

They will use their hooves to scratch. Like a dog basically....but with giant nails instead of a paw

Oh no...Use your imagination and put a comma there instead?

You're literally that horse person that makes all other horse people look crazy. You should reevaluate.

Fun fact a breed of horses were native to N.America. Natives ate them to extinction and only started to ride once Europeons introduced them

Wild horses have much different hooves from the typical breeds people ride. Like the difference between a wolf and a domesticated dog.

Horses won't put themselves in harm like this just from poor riding aids. This is a bad saddle and back problem bringing extreme pain.

You're a riding instructor and you call a bit a metal rod and bridle a leather strap? Hmm.

A big congrats!! I lost my Dad a year ago and I've gained stupid amounts of weight. I hope to hit the path you found at some point!

Wow so many downvotes...those bad few eggs in dressage really ruin it for people who who do things right and proper.

30 year old here and can confirm. Went from dresses to "can I wear the same plaid 3 days in a row?"

Catana comics stress me out because Im just no where near that level of affectionate with my s/o and it's like should I be???

Look up anything to do with Tennesse walking horses. It's a lot of stupid people hurting horses for "show qaulity" gaits.

...Relatively new research and time may change this!

Good question! I’m not sure why they’re still named this way. These two critters can’t even successfully breed together. It’s all...

I study both of them. I stare at their genomes. They’re are major differences. Maybe once the same critter but the ice age changed that.

They do shed each year. Both males and females grow them and shed them but at different times. Males after mating, females after calfs

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Technically not the same animal. Caribou are wild and reindeer are domesticated. A lot of ice age stuff in between

They like all kinds of scritches. Just make sure you know the horse before doing any sort of scritch.

Yeah even if “that’s how it goes” no one should have to watch a parent lose their life to cancer. It’s horrific. A very dumb comment

I wish I could downvote you more

It’s wild game so it’s basically impossible to get unless you’re a hunter or native. But I was lucky enough to try wild and it was amazing!

I’m Research technician in Ontario. I get the samples in and do the science on them. I have had chances to do field work in the NWT as well

After the velvet is shed they shed the antlers. It’s actually a very quick process beginning in the early spring ending mid winter
