Empire vs. Stormcloaks. What a refreshing argument.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

U know empire is technically right they are just trying to stay alive from the thalmor

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Way too many words for this to be funny

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I hope this is the new meme

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The skyrim discourse is heating up in these comments.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

SKYRIM BELONGS TO THE NORDS!!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Stormcloaks bunch of racist, stupid pricks that don't realize the Empire is the only thing stopping the Thalmor from rolling through Skyrim.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Skyrim is for the Nords!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I support the Stormcloaks, but when did anyone say that?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

General tulius likes to say things like "you nords and your damned ____"

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I want more of these spongebob memes

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Agreed

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And this is why the empire can suck my big Nordic dick

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 5

You all can't even handle the forsworn, how could you possibly brag about taking on the empire?

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I slaughtered the whole of the forsworn myself and killed your emperor and took you cities.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Who cities? Me cities? I'm not a city!

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

the empire is corrupt as shit, but the stormcloaks are racist asshats. the only solution is to live on a mountain and chill out with Paarthy

Remember, just cause you don't agree with someone doesn't mean you have to insult them. That's for Stormcloaks.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

The stormcloaks are literally trump/pence

Look at Glenn Beck here with his whiteboard

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 6

Play any non-nordic race and side with the Stormcloaks, and you will that they are just a bunch of racists too. They both suck.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Balloons happened.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Never understood how so many people sided with the faction that just abducts and executes people without even naming a crime.

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 7

Because they understand that they don't have a damn choice with the Thalmor forcing them, and the stormcloaks are religious extremists.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

You were caught crossing the border illegally, they picked you up on the way to the execution

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

A crime they don't try you for, just "oh hey, we've got the murder gear out might as well make illegal immigration a capital offense today."

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The country is in a state of civil war, amd you have no way of proving you weren't actually on Ulric's side.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

They don't seem to think you are though. They never call you a stormcloak and the officer tries to rescue you after the attack.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

every playthrough, no matter who I actually side with, I go stormcloak for the tutorial so I get to kill that damn officer.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And if you are referring to the intro to the game, we did commit a crime: cross the border into skyrim illegally.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Make Skyrim great again.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

It's not really explained how that all happened, but a same-day execution with no trial still seems a little shite.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Would it really seem like that in a world like skyrim though?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

If you crossed the border from Turkey into Iraq and stumbled upon US special forces on a mission to capture an ISIS leader, (1/2)

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

how would you expect them to treat you? You're not just crossing illegally, you're suspicious as fuck. (2/2)

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

This is probably the best explanation I've heard of this.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Because the other side considers having pointy ears to be a crime. Plus an independent Skyrim would make everyone weaker. 1/2

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 2

I sided with the Stormcloaks despite those things because I didn't like the Elves taking away freedoms. It's a really good balance. 2/2

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

The laws put in place by the white-gold concordat was only temporary, the Empire was planning on striking back.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Idk. Housing segregation seems like a lesser of two evils compared to a state that commits random murder of citizens.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

See my 2/2.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Or you know the racist zealots that want to run everyone out of "their" country. They seem like great people.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

They seemed pretty happy to have my khajiit character around. Maybe they just don't like their religion being outlawed on their own land.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That was most like done as not to interfere with gameplay. Playing as a Khajiit I got tons of snide remarks, especially from the Stormcloaks

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

The Empire died with Martin. It's time for a son of Skyrim to make a new one.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

How about we use one that isn't a pawn of the Thalmor.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Yeah, Ulfric Stormcloak.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The Thalmor released Ulfric knowing he would cause mayhem and weaken the Empire. As long as Cyrodil and Skyrim are at odds the Thalmor win.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

And Ulfric winning is the worse option for them. If they can stamp out Talos worship for a generation they'll crush it as a relgion

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

and could achieve their goal of destroying mundas.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Probably still a good idea to take him in custody. He's the leader of a racist movement.

9 years ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 12

He's not racist. The grey quarter isn't part of Windhelm and the dunmer aren't pulling their weight. Niranye's not oppressed.

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 39

Even if he doesn't act openly racist, he constantly ignores problem that plague non-nords.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I'm getting way too worked up reading these comments

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Why, what side are you on?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I've played a dark elf in every play through I've done since Morrowind. Literally cannot bring myself to side with the stormcloaks.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Dunmer in every other pro-Stormcloak city are prosperous. The ones in Windhelm are lazy.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Shut your filthy mouth, n'wah.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

Umm, yeah, it is.

9 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 4

Legally, it is not.

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 12

Oh well, so long as its legal, then nothing immoral could be going on. Carry on good herr.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

Ulfric is a stooge for the Thalmor, and the stormcloaks are proxies for them. Documents in the Thalmor Embassy spell it out.

9 years ago | Likes 35 Dislikes 4

while true, without the Thalmor skyrim would likely have collapsed seeing as much of their trade relied on the thalmor

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 9

I'm not sure where you got that info but the Summerset Iles are on the opposite side of Tamriel. Most trade would come from Cyrodil.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

I saw your post about the empire earlier and loved it. Keep up the good work!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

The dossier specifically states that a Stormcloak victory is to be avoided.

9 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 12

More accurately, they just want the civil war to continue for as long as possible, so that it saps the Empire of her resources.

9 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 1

Doesn't mean they aren't being played like chess pieces.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

Either scenario would have been bad for the Thalmor, Stormcloaks means open rebellion and Empire means a larger unified force.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Unified? Ulfric is trying to create a new Ebonheart Pact - possibly involving Hammerfell as well.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 6

Ignoring the fact, that the Ebonheart Pact was a barely functioning Treaty made to keep out Akiviri invaders. If Hammerfell and Skyrim 1/2

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

hadn't rebelled, the Empire would have been able to recover enough to push back the Thalmor. It was the only reason the signed the treaty 2/

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

I support the Stormcloaks, but I don't think Ulfric gave Torygg a fair duel.

9 years ago | Likes 35 Dislikes 5

Torygg never stood a chance against Ulfric even without the shout, but couldn't refuse the duel.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Stories are mixed, but it sounds like he may have agreed to a duel, and Ulfric killed him with a shout right then and there.

9 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 0

He also trapped Torygg. If Torygg declined, he wouldn't have gone to Sovngarde, and if he accepted he would die but go to Sovngarde.

Thanks for this

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You're very welcome!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The worst part of it is that they were friends for at least a good part of their lives. It's speculated that if Ulfric had just asked 1/2

9 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 1

the High King to more fiercely oppose the ban, he would have. But no, Ulfric went for the power grab. 2/2

9 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 1

Dick move

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

From what I heard, Ulfric challenged him knowing he couldn't lose. If he refused he was weak, if he didn't he was dead.

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

That doesn't make Ulfric inherently bad, thems just the breaks, kid.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

What if you take into consideration that Torygg looked up to him as a hero and would have joined Ulfric had he asked.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Well I mean he isn't my hero, I still don't necessarily think it makes him any sort of antagonist.
