Wrong!! That joker has a attached face. Worst post ever

This isn't comics so much as tv shows or movies. And the old show was cancelled because people stopped watching it. Nostalgia is great, tho.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The belt on the 60's TV suit pushed everything up, made him look pudgy. If Adam West had the trainers they do now, he'd be huge.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This comic is basically "What the Iron age did to comics in a nutshell" it's just some of them have recovered since.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

@cinderhellafine

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Modern version needs more Batusi.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

to be fair, back then the bad guys carried 6 shot revolvers, now they carry bump stocked guns with 1600 ammo

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

BECAUSE I'M BATMAN!!!!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Gritty reboots are being done to death

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So glorious

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No fun. Only justice.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Animated Batmen and Adam West are fun. Other Batmen at not.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Adam West will always be the best Batman. ALWAYS.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Whoever made this never read Batman #1 (1940). Joker was trying to kill everybody then, too.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

It's a Dorkly comic, they always over generalize to the point of entirely ruining the point or joke they intended to have.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I still wish they had the yellow symbol in the movies

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

YUSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I actually prefer the older style Batman. You can only take a guy running around in a bat suit so seriously. May as well make it campy af.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Now do the comics before this "silver age"

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Now do before then...

8 years ago | Likes 42 Dislikes 1

I could have gone without the Fifty Shades of Bat.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Shittier times back then. The new stuff is amazing lets face it

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 16

Oldheads about to swarm yo asd

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

A mix of metals is an alloy

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 3

You are right, he's talking about composite metal armor tho. Probably with alloys.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Not necessarily. If different parts are made of different materials, then it's made of a mix of metals. eg Aluminum panels and steel joints

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

This is true and I didnt consider this very obvious possibility.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I don't think damian Wayne has died?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

He died but was brought back

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I don't mean to sound mean here, but how did so many people miss this? It was in like major news outlets

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

lol I'm not sure. I'm an avid comic reader. And I do my best to keep up w the latest batman

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No judgement here; we all have weird random blind spots, I'm just surprised there are so MANY comments like yours

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yea I'm reading metal right now and he isn't dead

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Apparently he did die, and then he got better. He also got super powers. Frankenstein helped.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Also: Not a comic book guy, just googled it. Thought it was fake at first, but I guess it's real. Is it still canon? Is canon still a thing?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's still canon. And Damien's powers were super temporary. After a fake mission from Bats & JL to test his powers, he ended up losing them.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Do you know what series it is??

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wait. When did Damien die?

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

yes he did, but than they used his grand daddy's revival pool i think

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Volume 2 of Batman Inc. Issue 8, but is resurrected in Batman and Robin Vol 2 Issue 38 which was released around 1 or 2 years later.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Came to ask this too

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Ever so briefly. They teased Carrie Kelly would replace him but she didnt. He came back after a lot of space magic stuff happened.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I stopped reading right before that. I heard Damien gained some powers...?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

very Shortly.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I don't want Carrie Kelly in any thing except for Dark Knight Returns. She matches that Batman perfectly.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

This just made me spit on my phone from laughing! Great fucking GIF!

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

So at one point the Joker had to have commissioned someone to make or paint his board, got called that it was ready, and picked it up.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Or made it himself, which is equally funny.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It was so camp, I love it

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Holy crap that actually happened...

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Context?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I need that joker personalized surf board

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

the 60s were such an age of innocence.

Batman meets Gidget

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

God that show was so fucking stupid +1

8 years ago | Likes 136 Dislikes 14

They were starting it again in animation, but with Adam West dead, I don't know if they'll stick with it...

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

You misspelled fun. God that show was so fucking fun.

8 years ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 1

That was kind of the point. It was supposed to be goofy.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

ha it is being shown again right now in Australia on SBS! They promote it :) 1.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I love that Cesar Romero refused to shave his mustache.

8 years ago | Likes 412 Dislikes 1

I mentioned this to my 55 year old father this year and he confessed he never realized. TVs were too small back then for it to matter lol

8 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

Bring the oranges ????!!!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You're gonna hate that Henry Cavill legally couldn't shave his for Justice League, because of another movie contract he had.

8 years ago | Likes 125 Dislikes 0

That means there are some amazing mustached Superman photos floating around d somewhere

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Couldnt shave it for some re-shoots, legal contract with Mission Impossible 6, they'll digitally remove it though.

8 years ago | Likes 58 Dislikes 0

I love this. Because it's so much easier to digitally remove a moustache than to just wear a fake one

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

May as well. Based on the trailers I think the whole damn movie is digital CGI

8 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 1

You mean old TV show VS Now

8 years ago | Likes 633 Dislikes 10

I scored a hard cover Batman comic as a 10/11 y.o. and folks got ganked without prejudice L, R & C. Bleak af, awesome tho.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

"I scored a hard cover Batman comic as a 10/11 year old & folk got killed without prejudice left, right & center. Very bleak, awesome though"

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They're both accurate to the comics of the time period, though.

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

The robin one isn't. There are 3 past robins, all alive, and one current robin (also alive, although a zombie robin would be cool, too)

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Jason Todd died, Stephanie brown died, Damian Wayne died. They all got better though, because comics

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

You mean old TV show versus movies now

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Old comics were pretty campy too.

8 years ago | Likes 107 Dislikes 6

Like in Batman #1 from 1940, when he lynches that mentally handicapped guy after machine gunning some henchmen.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Yeah no.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

Silver age was totally campy. Batman didn't become the broodfest he is today until Dark Knight Returns

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

It actually began in the '70s when Neal Adams took over.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

He also became Shirtless Sex God Batman. The rarest of the Batman variants.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But Todd died during said camp

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 2

A Death in the Family came out in 1988. While 29 years is old to whipper snappers, I'm 99% sure Driver is referring to Golden Age Batman.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Most likely siver age, golden age batman was the original batman and was pretty violent, silver age is the silly one

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Are you suggesting 80's Batman was dark and gritty?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Well, The Killing Joke, The Dark Knight Returns, and A Death in the Family all came out in the '80s.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

He was, thanks mostly to Frank Miller.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Depends how old. Original bats was dark AF.

Dude the original Batman literally strangled a guy to death.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Original Batman used guns and killed, it was darker than Batman the Animated Series. And thats not the original cartoon. 20 years late.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Umm no. Bronze age Batman killed guys without a second thought. With guns no less

8 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

*Golden age, bronze age is the current age

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You clearly don't know anything about the original comics

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Dude fought vampires and blimps with death rays in the 30s. Wasn't dark AF. Just darker than what came in the silver age.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 2

Yeah and he straight up murdered people, that's pretty dark.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

oooo lookit u all wrong n stuff

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Murdering mobsters in issue one

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

And fought giant mutants, vampires, aliens, and had stories involving flowers with human faces. Batman was more willing to use lethal 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah Golden Age Batman was all murdery, Silver Age was campy and that's the era of comics that coincides with the TV show.

8 years ago | Likes 41 Dislikes 0

Golden age Batman was "murdery" for about a year and a half

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The comic was changed to go along with the tv show in hopes that the comics would increase sales. it did just the opposite.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

That and the Comics Code starting a few years prior. All Silver Age comics were pretty campy thanks to that.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Modern version ranges from real great to "WHY THE FUCK IS BATMAN KILLING PEOPLE WITH GUNS!?". Adam West ver was just silly goofy.

8 years ago | Likes 249 Dislikes 8

The writers for the Batman show didn't think anybody would be interested in seeing a comic book character, so they made it into a spoof.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Well, they may not have been wrong. It was still glorious. TBF my favourite batman is still the 90s animated series.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

R.i.p. Adam West

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

*RIP Adam We

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

BvS needed an origin story. I understand not wanting to tell the "This is how I became a Bat" story again, but at least give us something to

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

set up why Bats went off the deep end. Death in the Family could have done that.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

That's literally Man of Steel. The entire hate boner he has for Superman is from the events of Man of Steel. A set of events audiences...

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

had already panned as a scale of destruction entirely out of Superman's character, he wouldn't plow through the city with complete abandon.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

To be fair, in Man of Steel, that Sups is just getting use to his powers really and Zod is the first SUPER threat he has ever fought before.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I mean, some people got that, with the robin suit, but yeah, still a shite movie.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The people that got it aren't the people WB is trying to impress. That was the movie's biggest problem (one of them, anyway)...

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Too much dependency on prior knowledge of the characters and their stories. If WB wants to compete with the MCU, they need to bring in more

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

T H E S N Y D E R I N G

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

*shudder* Dark times for everyone :(

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

When I went to see Wonder Woman, I resigned myself to the fact that there'd be a Syndering. Thankfully it only lasted ~10 min.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Everything great before it was still great, and the section where it happened was disappointing, but generally ignorable in the end.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I didn't even know there was a Syndering in the WW film. That's been getting great reviews, I still wanna see it.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

V. glad to know it doesn't ruin the film too :D

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I have 0 problem with a Batman who kills when people get in his way of fighting a bigger threat - or leaves people to die, etc.

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 4

The term for that is "Technical Pacifist". And yes, me neither. But like, doing that then claiming Supes is too reckless and kills people?

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

like, come the fuck on, bruce, i know you're a rich white techbro but fuckin' knock off the hypocrisy, k?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

not that being calculated makes it ok, just that the scale is incredibly important

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

in terms of numbers, Superman and Zod killed millions across the planet - and Supes could kill many more easily - Batman is more calculated

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

i'm sure those explosive rounds were super calculated to make sure there was no risk whatsoever of collateral damage and innocents hurt.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

for real though Batman V Superman is a mess film because it's a frankenstein's monster of various sources. and Snyder sucks at directing.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I've heard that the Director's Cut added scenes that made the movie make more sense. Scenes that should have never been cut...

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

He's great at individual scenes, but useless at stringing them together into a coherent, good, interesting story.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Batman used to kill people in the old version. It s a recent comic that stated he doesn t out of the blue.

8 years ago | Likes 84 Dislikes 15

Not to mention by pure accident some of these guys he hits have to die from concussions alone.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

What? Recent? Batman has been doing the "no kill" thing for like 40+ years. You're very wrong.

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 7

"Recent" is relative. I'm fairly certain that he's been anti gun/killing for most of his life now.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

really depends on the writer, sometimes he just pushes people in very killing places (like acid), sometimes he uses molotov or magic....

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What the main batman doesnt shoot and kill people since the 40s

8 years ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 7

He may not use a gun normally, but he has killed in other ways.

8 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 3

early comics sure but there a very few examples in modern comics (mostly b/c bad writing). Heroes don't kill, that's a big deal imo.

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

The narrative on what is heroic has changed. It used to just mean beating the Bad Guys and Saving the Day. Now, the concept is more nuanced.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Does the batman in the flash point paradox count? Bruce's dad was batman in it and he used guns, I don't recall any kill shots, but...

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Oh, there's kill shots. One that the story requires.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No, the main Batman is Bruce Wayne from the main comic story line.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Nah different person, and a feliberate foil to Batman's no killing rule

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0
