Clanker wanker ?

#29 "movie" ..... as if, you know, there was never any kind of 'book' that might have preceded the movie by a tiny bit (49 years)

#23 at a place I used to work, artists needed the craziest shit for art ref. Granny porn, drugs, car crashes, etc etc etc

The security exception list was eventually “stop monitoring this entire group of people”

#1 My wife loved the nutcracker as a kid, so as a surprise I took her to see it. During the intermission I look at the program..."so the whole second half of this is just dancing candy?"

3 months ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

#1 That's completely fine and expected. If not, take this opportunity to learn about your child. You will need the empathy later :)

#1 We took our kids to Washington D.C. a couple years ago to see all the touristy sites. Their favorite part of the trip? Feeding the ducks.

#37 pretty much everything since the turn of the millennium has been "rich fucks destroying the world to steal money they will never spend while spreading hate so the poor are too busy to do anything about it" you need disposable income to express yourself as a decade

#25 I am not sure that soaking acidic fruit in a basic substance is a good idea. And I'm not sure that what is seen in that bowl of water is dirt. This seems like the result of a chemical reaction.

3 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

#25 that brown stuff is likely pectin. Amongst other things its a key component of the fruits fibre structure. Soaking it in bicarb is removing a key benefit of fresh fruit.

Yeah, we need to stop posting bad information on the internet. This dump gets a down vote from me

#14 not really, no. Smartphones aren't the divider. It's about growing up with a dedicated "computer room" and having to run games from floppy disk. And actually using card catalogs at the library as a kid. And MTV was music videos. And so damned many cigarettes everywhere. Thinking that big SUVs and pickups would just be a passing fad, back in the early 90s.

#14 I remember it. I remember when the nokias and flip phones and ipods started filtering in. My high school was built with a bank of pay phones because they were so new and rare - especially for a child to possess.

#15 AuDHD: I get up earlier because I don't want to be late and then procrastinate for longer and longer, so I'm always leaving the house at the last fucking second in a rush. I also go to bed later and later despite getting up earlier and earlier, ensuring I do it all while fuckin' exhausted.

#7 oh boy... don't do this to people. Poor dude is literally thinking he got ghosted over ice cream.

Little things like this end up taking a massive toll on the psyche of men in the dating pool. That follow-up message may sound pretty casual, or even in jest. But I guarantee he felt a genuine sting from that interaction.

3 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Having just returned to the dating pool after 20 years, can confirm. Too old to be playing stupid games, and at that age we should be able to communicate like adults. If you're not into me, just say so. No hard feelings, move on. Being ghosted though... yeah, it's rough.

#37 This is a known phenomenon and something smart people are a little concerned about.

3 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I wasn't around for 60 to 70, and too young to register 70 to 80 but believe the Carter to Reagan created some noticeable changes. The fall of the Soviet union really shifted the "world will end with nukes" vibe of the 80s to 90s hopefulness, which ended with the 9/11 attacks. While there has been shifts since the 00s they didn't hit as close to the decade shift or as drastically noticeable.

Anyone else getting ads on the app EVERY 5 FUCKING IMAGES?? This shit just started like 2 days ago. 5 images, ad in the middle, 5 images, ad.

3 months ago | Likes 90 Dislikes 1

I only browse imgur on desktop with adblockers. Wouldn't know.

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

At first, I just thought it was the next image, like something about the ad was the joke, you know? But then there was another and another and it's just one more hell we live in.

3 months ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

Yea I'm seeing ads every 5 pics and it's pretty fucking annoying

3 months ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 1

Yeah. This might finally be the straw that gets me to quit IMGUR.

3 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Go to your phone's DNS settings and input this

3 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

People are out here raw-dogging the internet without and ad blockers? I haven't seen an ad since 2005

3 months ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 2

I use blockers and noscript on my PC. There's not a great reason to go through setting up some sort of home thing through my router or modem or whatever that stops ads that way so nothing on a network has ads. It's not often they are present on my phone, except since the new change here.

3 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

huh. I've had an ad blocker on my phone for ages, i never even thought about the router angle.

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Out of curiosity, does your ad blocker stop ads that are integrated in apps? Or do you use Imgur through a web browser. I was under the impression that just having an ad blocker on my phone would be for the browser and not apps. But I might be out of the loop

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oh god yeah, i wouldn't have the imgur app on my phone if you paid me, that thing is basically cancer.

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

1. Don’t use the app. 2. Get an adblocker.

3 months ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 4

The site looks terrible on mobile.

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Works fine from my side, I use the mobile site all the time and never noticed any real display problems.

3 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Or, you know, use the app AND an ad-blocker.

3 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

The app has had so many problems and shady stuff over the years, I uninstalled it a while back and just use the site.

3 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

If I wasn't using the app, I wouldn't be using Imgur. And idk how to do that stuff where you set up an ad blocker on your router or whatever so it blocks any from showing even in apps.

3 months ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

Blokada 5 on Android, no setup needed

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Download Firefox from the Play Store. Within Firefox, tap on the three dots, go to extensions and install uBlock Origin. Done. Now just use Firefox instead of the godawful app.

3 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

Does this only work on android?

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yes (also on PC). For iOS devices, there are inferior, but usable alternatives. Try Orion: https://orionbrowser.com/ Comes with adblocking built in.
