How old was he? Did you at least try taking him to a @fishdoctor before setting him on fire?
theblumpkin
Was he named Peeping Tom because he was kept in the restroom?

And it isn't even the casual reposter, it's the thieving reposter, who passes content off as his own.

Get a fish, marinate for 6 years in a bowl w/ cheap fish food, when it's ripe it'll float to the top, slap it on some matchbooks, light it.
OldSchoolCoder
Perfect response for what some might consider an inappropriate question. +1

Rock the fuck on! I've always wanted to give a pet a viking funeral. You actually did it. You son of a bitch you did it.
eaglehunter
Did he die in fish battle?
JadeMcguire
The dad accidently moved him out of the sunlight.
lewimowo
Sadly nope, so he's probably going down to hel
thorkild91
Not if he had a valknut cut into his flesh or was a valiant jarl.
7SlicesofResurrectedBread
It's a danio, it's 100% going to hell
Sbeebree
6 years? That seems really old for a tiny fish
NurietaGM
That looks like a zebrafish. Those MFers have long lives. The lifespan is 2-3 years in captivity but well kept get to over 5 years.
SomeGuyNamedThomas
Mined made it to almost 7 years and then was brutally eaten by the cherry barbs

Six is over five. Story checks out.

Don't think I've ever seen a Viking funeral for a pet before... interesting
AFancyGentleman
I threw a jazz funeral for my hamster. Confused/alarmed my neighbors, but they were jerks anyways.
OnlyPostsGetRekt
He needs to be burned with a shield and sword at his side, otherwise he'll stand no chance in Valhalla
Destino23
My family made a pyre for our ferret. Since we couldn't bury her due to permafrost (Canada)
hispanicyankee
I suppose that's logical
blastingacrossthealkaliflats
Also Canada. Held a viking funeral for a dead bird found on the sidewalk. But no permafrost in my case - it was August when we did it.
Weddell
No sword=no Valhalla. Poor fish.
glozinglocal
Aww
OverpricedCrayon
The fish also didnt die in battle (most likely)

We sent one of our chickens to Valhalla with a proper Viking funeral down river last summer. RIP Gabbitha.
Gayforbae
Imagine one for a malamute.... Hope you have a small yacht you're done with....
minizeries
We did one after I miscarried. I took a picture but it just looks like a smudge of flame in the dark.

A picture of the tiny paper boat on fire! Not... yeah. Not that.
sheevtheconqueror
I had one for a moth I found
TeenageMutantNinjaNurse
My friends and I had one for a pet cat once. Bonfire by the lake + Viking funeral.. it coupled well. Or maybe we just like fire, actually.
VindictiveRidge
A friend of mine and I performed one for a pigeon that had flown into a window and broken its neck. Not our pet, we were just really bored.
LostRedShoe
i had one for my old battle.net username
hispanicyankee
Like you wrote it on a piece of paper and did this?
LostRedShoe
i wrote it on a piece of paper then put it in a paper boat. floated it in my bathtub then lit it on fire
hispanicyankee
Sounds like a good way to set off the smoke alarm
PineappleInsertion
I had one for battle.net
Ihavewaytoomanyfavoritestosort
I've seen on imgur alone: A bee, a snail, and a betta fish.

Maybe later I should add my Dwarf African frog. Or just the boat since he "bled out"
wnxkrayzie
My father in law requested a viking burial on his cabin lake...wonder if thats legal?
hispanicyankee
I'd imagine the fire in the lake could be an issue, but you could check with local police/fire/parks and rec departments or fish and game
fuckyouandyourwittyusername
Unfortunately, no. Unless your country has really, really relaxed laws about dumping corpses, since it doesn't actually cremate you at all.
Finain
Go to one of the Great Lakes and boat out a bit, or go in the middle of nowhere along the coast. You'll be fine
batlrar
I only know that it's illegal if the person is still alive.
AwkwardLee
Oooh Burn!
OSCgal
Check with your local gov't. You never know unless you ask.
iquestioneverything
As long as you soak the logs in wood first, to make sure it lights. Should be ok.
covenguy90
That's an oldie. +1
TwoOreoesOneCup
Soak the logs in wood.. *noted*
Moosen6
Surprisingly yes, IF you do some legal work around shenanigans because of open air cremation regulations.
