This special was more of a work of art. Highly recommend.

This one fucked me up. It's a gloriously painful, beautifully shot and edited distillation of pandemic isolation and depression.

Welcome to the internet was hands down my favorite part. I loved the whole special from start to finish! I hope Bo is getting by okay.

Not what is normally watch, but my wife wanted to watch it with me. It was excellent.

“A self-help book delivered by a drone”

4 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

This is a mix of 80% depression and 20% light comedy. It's almost a self shot documentary of mental decline during the pandemic

4 years ago | Likes 65 Dislikes 0

Can I interest you in everything, all of the time?

4 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

I made the mistake of watching this while peaking on 10 grams of shrooms

4 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

His lockdown game where all you can do is walk around the room, try your best to leave it, and cry, really cut to the core of my dystopia.

4 years ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 0

I suggest going back and watching his other specials again. Makes you appreciate this one even more.

There it is

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It was amazing, but don't go into it expecting a comedy. It's more... Maybe social commentary with humourous elements.

My gf has been singing his "feeling like a bag of shit" song for a week.

Will I get anything from it that I didn't already personally experience during the pandemic?

No.

Your pain put into words with a catchy jingle thrown in underneath.

All the songs are on spotify now!

4 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

YES! also thank you

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

For me it's "a little bit of everything, all of the time..."

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

It's intensely personal. It is incisive and direct to the point of discomfort. It is accusatory and it is brilliant. Highly recommended.

4 years ago | Likes 61 Dislikes 4

Here is my theory about his special: it is a comedy special for 1. It is not meant to be consumed by a crowd of people, or even more 1/

4 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

than 2. The whole thing makes you question his mental health while you reflect on the the troubles of what 2020 was, together you and bo 2/

4 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Create a moment more intimate than a normal comedy special. It’s a friend trying to make you laugh durning quarantine. The whole thing is 3/

4 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

An Inside Joke with you and Bo.

4 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

That's the way the world works was ballsy. Loved it.

4 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Yes, WHAT?

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Look at me!

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yes …Sir.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's better. Thaaaaaat is how the world works!

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

One of his best imo. His book of poems is great as well. I wish him all the happiness in the world

4 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

I loved it. But it got dark man. I hope he is doing ok after this special.

4 years ago | Likes 44 Dislikes 2

Feeling Like Shit is absolutely fantastic, the whole special is awesomely honest and brilliant.

4 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 1

We watched it on my friends 30th birthday not knowing anything about the songs. Fucking perfect lol

4 years ago | Likes 35 Dislikes 0

That’s awesome timing lol

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Loved the lighting work he did in "30"

4 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

“All eyes on me” had me in tears. It’s so hauntingly beautiful.

4 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

I stopped calling it a comedy special. It' a social commentary with comedic elements. What's the difference? How they try to make you laugh.

4 years ago | Likes 217 Dislikes 4

I described it to a friend as a Dramatic Musical Comedy

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

4 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 2

It has that George Carlin energy but less curmudgeonly and more youthful.

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Yup. Not a comedy. Good, but not a comedy special at all.

4 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 3

Yep. Like a singing George Carlin.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Fuck right off. I've had this on playing rent free in my head for 2 days and this morning was my first peace.

4 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Definitely my favorite song out of the show. Gave me "Wonka on the boat going down the tunnel" vibes.

Stuck in my head forever more

4 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

Quoth the raven nevermore.

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Seriously, I spent all day at work singing this damn song under my breath

4 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

It plays in my head all day

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It's incredible. Get Your Fucking Hands Up is the best song I've heard this year.

4 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 3

It's both great and touching. I don't know what it was but the 'pray for me' felt so honest and genuine. The whole thing hurt.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That’s my favorite one as well!

4 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

The production on this song is wild. The bit on the ocean rising hurts so good.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It was mesmerizing. When he gets to the section about the hopelessness of living in a dying world something broke in me. 1/

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Didn't realize how much I was holding in this anxiety and pain that has just slowly morphed into the background radiation of our lives. 2/2

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You say the oceans rising, like I give a shit. You say the whole world’s ending, honey it already did. 1/2

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You’re not going to slow it, heaven knows you tried. Got it? Good. Now get inside. 2/2

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It was really impressive technically. I don't know that I'll go back and watch it again because I'm already aware how awful everything is.

4 years ago | Likes 502 Dislikes 1

Yeah, It's depressing as fuck, I loved it but once is enough.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I watched it twice within 24 hours. It can be pretty rough at times.

4 years ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 0

Yeah, calling this a comedy is a stretch. Reliving the worst year of your life is usually not the best for laughs. Really well made though.

4 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

I watched it once but listened to in on Spotify about 15 times. It’s excellent music to have on as you work etc

4 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Do the spotify versions cut off 1/3 of the way through?

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Transitions are very stark and feel early at at times, but no different than in the special

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I was also impressed technically, and doing it all alone. But yeah, I already feel hopeless enough as it is.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It's a slow decent into madness and he's taking you with him in the most beautiful manner

4 years ago | Likes 111 Dislikes 0

But it’s also like, your roommate going through a list of every single thing wrong with your apartment, including both of your personal 1/?

4 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

flaws that make it hard to live together. It’s a descent into madness with an air of “I fucking get it, I live here too!” It’s a masterpiece

4 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

He deserves at least a photography nomination for White Woman Instagram

4 years ago | Likes 1035 Dislikes 4

Only WWInsta felt like old Bo to me. But instead 20 of those, we got a decent into madness. A year of work: I wonder what's on the floor?

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

He must have practiced in the mirror for days, getting those facial expressions right

4 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

I can't get it out of my brain.... just a non-stop loop

4 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Though I appreciate his work, I've never been a huge fan. This, however, is excellent.

4 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

The middle part where the camera frame widens and shows how, just offscreen, life is messy and chaotic despite how we present our instagram.

4 years ago | Likes 39 Dislikes 0

instagram ratio when its all empty bullshit, widens when its talking about something real and emotional

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

He was so pretty

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

That is 100% worth watching

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Been stuck in my head since I saw it

That had me in tears, he's a genius.

That or welcome to the internet

4 years ago | Likes 37 Dislikes 0

Love the ska in "unpaid intern". Need a full song

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I would also like to hear more of his thought in Jeffrey Bezos.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Welcome to the internet is by far my personal favorite. Gets so sinister

4 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

Like the internet.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

A comment on the YouTube video said it was a villain song but the villain has already won. I thought that was spot on.

4 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I worry about him sometimes, had no idea he struggled with anxiety

4 years ago | Likes 294 Dislikes 9

Almost every comedian has mental illness. Katt Williams, Robin Williams, Bo Burnham, Dave Chapelle. Comic genius is born of a lot of pain.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Full on panic attacks. A bit different from anxiety and even worse.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I worry about him so much.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

stand up comes from a place of being observational, which comes from being anti social. its not that much of a stretch when you realize that

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

I've always thought that it's the trauma that makes funny people. Anything to distract how you really feel.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

How was that not obvious? I think that was pretty evident already when What. came out.

4 years ago | Likes 71 Dislikes 2

Don't think it's so blaringly obvious, even less so during What. Do you mean Make Happy?

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

Nope, I mean What. His stage persona is kinda built around it.

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Isn't that just part of life?

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

He's been pretty open about it.

4 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

His interview with H3H3 revealed a lot

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think his mental health is pretty par for the course as far as comedians go.

4 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Everything he does is pretty fantastic, and always leaves me with the thought, "bro, you ok?"

4 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Genius and insanity tend to walk hand in hand.

4 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

It was so nice at the end of make happy that he got all cutesy with his wife and kiddo. I needed that.

4 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

*girlfriend and dog

4 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 0

It wouldn't be funny if us comedians weren't mentally scarred.

4 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

Tragedy/Comedy

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Yeah when we saw his second special my wife said she was afraid he would kill himself.

4 years ago | Likes 121 Dislikes 0

If he ends up swinging from the rafters or something, I wouldn't be surprised. Terribly sad but not surprised

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

He starts Inside by literally saying it was a way to do something so as to not blow his brains out.

4 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I struggled watching his specials for the same reason. Love his talent but he has anxiety written all over him.

4 years ago | Likes 43 Dislikes 0

He’s said in multiple interviews that he plays it up on camera and that it’s a character he’s created. Hard to know for sure though.

4 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

It's remarkable how often funny people are incredibly depressed. For stand-up comedians especially.

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

the depression is what makes us funny professionally

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

You might be thinking of Make Happy, which is his third special, but its his second one on Netflix. His first is call Words Words Words. 1/2

4 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

His first special was on Netflix like 9 years ago, but they removed it. It is truly genius in a very adolescent way.

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I told my husband the same thing after the same special. I worry about the little guy.

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Which I'd funny because he's like 6'5.

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Dudes massive though. It never comes across on stage. It's pretty funny seeing him next to normal people.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yeah, but he's probably young enough to be my kid. So...little guy.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Any advice?

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You have a 30 year old kid? I tip my hat to a fellow parent further down the road. My sex trophies are both under 3.
