Monsters

Six years after Earth has suffered an alien invasion a cynical journalist agrees to escort a shaken American tourist through an infected zone in Mexico to the safety of the US border.

Made entirely by a crew of less than 5 people this film has a beautiful pace and some breathtaking shots. Jon Hopkins does a spectacular soundtrack for it too.

The Machinist

An industrial worker who hasn't slept in a year begins to doubt his own sanity.

You'll feel a bit insane after watching this.

28 Days Later

Four weeks after a mysterious, incurable virus spreads throughout the UK, a handful of survivors try to find sanctuary.

This is the film that sparked my interest in cinema as a teenager.

Europa Report

An international crew of astronauts undertakes a privately funded mission to search for life on Jupiter's fourth largest moon.

Spaaaaaaaaaaaace

Bad Boy Bubby

Bubby has spent thirty years trapped in the same small room, tricked by his mother. One day, he manages to escape, and, deranged and naive in equal measures, his adventure into modern life begins.

this is a fucking strange one but I really enjoyed it. I incest you watch it..

Frank

Jon, a young wanna-be musician, discovers he's bitten off more than he can chew when he joins an eccentric pop band led by the mysterious and enigmatic Frank.

This ones been getting a lot of attention on Imgur recently and rightly so. It's a new watch for me (thanks to all the lists) and it left me with a mixture of emotions.

The Prestige

Two stage magicians engage in competitive one-upmanship in an attempt to create the ultimate stage illusion.

THAT FUCKING TWIST! plus, booooowie as Tesla.

Sunshine

A team of international astronauts is sent on a dangerous mission to reignite the dying Sun with a nuclear fussion bomb in 2057.

The audio for the distress beacon still rings in my head sometimes. Such a eerie film.

How I Live Now

An American girl, sent to the English countryside to stay with relatives, finds love and purpose while fighting for her survival as war envelops the world around her.

Jon Hopkins soundtrack again. Some stunning shots.

There Will be Blood

A story of family, religion, hatred, oil and madness, focusing on a turn-of-the-century prospector in the early days of the business.

The Mist

A freak storm unleashes a species of bloodthirsty creatures on a small town, where a small band of citizens hole up in a supermarket and fight for their lives.

Obviously these just my personal preferences so they may not be to everyones taste. If you enjoy at least one of these i'll consider it a good job :)

Thanks.

FP edit: Thanks for all the recommendations! I'll get on with watching all of those and maybe they'll make it on to a second list :)

"Less than five people..." Sooooo, four people?

Th prestige is a great movie

Recognized Monsters immediately from the thumbnail. Such a good movie, and a haunting soundtrack too.

10 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

As a machinist, I'm doubting my sanity...

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I watched the mist a child and let me tell you I cannot go outside in fog anymore

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I recommend reading book the mist. It had me and i still remember it sometimes years after reading it.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

28 Days Later is one of my all time favorite movies. Also +1 for Monsters; I actually loved it despite the critics.

10 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

I thought critics liked Monsters. I loved it personally. Not seen the sequel but I expect it won't be as good.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I didn't have high hopes for Monsters at first, but I was very impressed in the end.

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

How I Live Now has been my favorite book since middle school. I've read it twice now and I would read it again in a heart beat.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'm not sure how I feel about that incest your were talking about in Bad Boy Bubby...

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It was pretty grim but I think it really put into perspective how fucked the situation was.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

That was such a disturbing film - I had nightmares for months.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Fucking Fantastic, and the first time without a gasd mask.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm sorry, as much as I love and appreciate film, Bad boy bubby is the only film that left me with a bad taste in my mouth. Very sickening

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I stll can't look at cling film without thinking of this movie. Such a disturbing film.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I was just about to say the same thing.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Lee Pace's The Fall is the most visually stunning film I have ever seen. Massive cinematography boner, and a beautiful story as well.

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Recently looked into his work 'cause I'm into Halt and Catch Fire as a computer enthusiast and I came upon The Fall on You Tube!

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The director of The Fall is Tarsem Singh. Lee Pace is just the actor in it. Tarsem always does visually arresting films (also see The Cell)

monsters and the mist were awesome.

What about Children of Men!? There Will Be Blood is one of my all-time favorites. Another well-crafted film is The Assassination of 1/2

10 years ago | Likes 50 Dislikes 4

At some point you have to stop the list. I'm sure OP will do a part 2

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Children of Men was such a beautifully shot movie! That single shot scene near the end where all the warfare stops is breathtaking.

10 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

i really didnt like children of men... i felt like i was waiting for the movie to start the entire time

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

Rewatching it understanding it's a character piece about Clive Owen's transformation into an unwilling hero and not a sci fi mystery helps.

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

I liked it, but I had the same feeling the first time I watched it. Couldn't put my finger on it though, until now. Thanks!

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It felt to me like the second movie in a trilogy. Like if you only ever saw The Empire Strikes Back or something.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. Casey Affleck does a surprisingly good job acting against Brad Pitt.

10 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

Casey's acting was so good, i still hate him to this day and see him as a coward. I've typecasted him :)

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

You should check out King of Masks. There is a scene in that movie with a fire that uses film cuts and distance in the most amazing way

10 years ago | Likes 385 Dislikes 0

Can confirm this is a great movie. One of my favorites.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Thanks! I'll check that out :)

10 years ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 1

Perfume. Great crazy movie. Soundtrack is pretty damn cool to.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Have you seen The Fall? From 2006, Directed by Tarsem. Freaking beautiful.

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I second this. I think OP would really like it based on his/her tastes

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

lol just pasted the trailer and opening before reading your comment:) NOW GO SEE IT OP!

I cant find this movie on imdb... is this somekind of reference I missed?

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

google seems to indicate it's this: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0115669/ original comment probably ran out of characters.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

How I live now is INCREDIBLE. If you don't mind cousin incest.

10 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 4

Apart from the whole incest thing I truely enjoyed that movie. Rarely I find something touching but How I live now left me in tears.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Was waiting for someone to comment on the mild incest.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

2nd time today I see a post mentioning 28 Days, not only is it one of the best zombie related flicks. It's the best movie in my opinion.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

get this man a drink!

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I enjoyed Sunshine for how it's done, and the actors do a pretty good job but the whole story is so absurd it distracts from everything else

10 years ago | Likes 106 Dislikes 6

the whole plot is wafer thin, granted. This is still hands-down my favourite space film, absolutely beautiful

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's great until they meet the slasher dude. Then it just gets ridiculous.

10 years ago | Likes 49 Dislikes 1

I don't agree, it's a central part of the plot and it's wonderfully executed. The sun has been worshipped for centuries /1

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

That was...beautiful...

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

because it's recognized as the giver of life, the "renewer" if you will, and it is an extremely powerful object. /2

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Imagine creeping closer and closer to this unfathomable ball of pure energy, the thing that has sustained your planet for eons, /3

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

imagine the phychological pressure of deep space travel and the importance of your mission, and then that giant thing staring you /4

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I give that movie 10/10 until the ending. The whole other captain thing

10 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

when they are in that huge cube thingy and they say they are running out of air? ridiculous

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

But that aside, a brilliant visual movie. Music's also awesome

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

indeed

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That movie is so gorgeous! agree about the the third act though. But man the sounds music and shots in it, really make me love the film.

10 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Visually, pure awesome space-porn. Story is more....meh. Also, the whole sun-physics bit is a bit wonky.. :p

10 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

A *bit* wonky? Physicists mock this movie openly.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

and an atomic bomb surely will revive the sun, suuuuuuuuuuuuuure

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I watched the film with a few friends who knew a bit about physics and stuff, this was pretty much how it went :http://imgur.com/fhZiAcA

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

That was at the opening credits already :D

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's even worse if you study CS, or at least equal...

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As much as I hate the ending, the moment the twist that leads into it is revealed is absolutely bone chilling.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

At any point in the movie do they say "It's daylight savings time."?

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It switches genres at the end.I don't know of anyone who thought it worked.

10 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

I liked it. Danny Boyle works magic.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I got a bit annoyed at the engineer. Why wasn't Scarecrow helping him out?? Why did you leave one guy in charge? And such a huge mistake.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I know he felt terrible and it was all about being human and yadda. It still felt annoying to me.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Dumplings is also a very beautiful movie, would recommend it if you aren't extra squeamish.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'll check that out :)

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I thought The Mist was caused by the military experimenting with alternate dimensions. Closer to Doom canon than the actual Doom movie.

10 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Yeah, he probably left that part out as its kinda spoiler-y

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Possibly. I had so much hope for the Doom movie and was so pissed at how not like the game it was. The Mist was almost perfect Doom canon.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Me @ all these movie lists: cool but is it on Netflix?

10 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 2

There will be blood is, just watched it for the second time last weekend

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Solarmovie.is - I recommend using Google Chrome with Adblock installed, though

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

The Machinist is. Probably one of my favorite movies ever.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Have you ever googled "Watch (movie name)" ? You can honestly find anything thats out on DVD already.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

How I Live Now is! It is a fantastic watch. Watched it with my S/O and it was perfect

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Check out PopcornTime, it's piratebay meets Netflix

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I just watched bad boy bubby on it, it is super fucked up, watch it

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm watching it, and I will hold you personally responsible for how I feel when it's over.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

*reads description of movie* Dear god, what is this

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Others to add to the list: The Fountain, Baraka, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Melancholia, Sunshine, The Art of Flight

10 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 2

Oh, Melancholia was weird and wonderful. I think the score is what I liked the best, but the scenes were beautiful, too.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I've watched the fountain more times than I care to admit.....it's 27

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My favorite movie of all time. One of the few movies I actual own

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The Fountain is weird as hell but man is it gorgeous.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The Mist is fucking awesome. The end is heartbreaking.

10 years ago | Likes 103 Dislikes 6

Fuck the mist man. Amazing movie, but I couldn't get that ending out of my head for like a week

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I loved how sad the ending was.

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I had read the book and thought I knew what was coming and lost my fucking mind.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Interestingly, the ending is also a massive departure from the short story.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The book had a totally different ending. I hate it when they do that. No offense. The movie was great.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

If you read the story the ending was disappointing because the rest of the movie was SO accurate to the story. On its own the end was great!

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

Except for the ending, it really stays true to the Stephen King story, and from what I've read he loved it.

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Yet so many people hated the ending. I absolutely loved it.

10 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 0

I agree, the ending was absolutely fantastic

10 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

that whole movie is fucking awful, i'm blown away that anyone took it seriously.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 13

The cgi was so bad. The ending was terrible.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 4

I've been looking for this comment. I'm glad someone said it.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

downvote me to hell, it was a bad movie.

10 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

My all-time favorite horror movie of ever. SO GOOD.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The Prestige is a great film. Christopher Nolan, Hugh Jackman, Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Scarlett Johansson, and Nicola Tesla.

10 years ago | Likes 172 Dislikes 2

this was the movie that made me realize that Jackman could actually act.

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

10 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Don't forget Andy Serkis

I'd love to see a movie, regardless of the rest of it, with a 30 minute argument between BBT and DDL.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I found it so hard to watch "There will be blood"... I don't even know why, I tried twice and couldn't finish it...

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's not uncommon. Not everyone can sit through that type of movie. Have you seen any other of his movies?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Do you mean the Paul Thomas Anderson or Daniel Day-Lewis? I watched "The Master" and really liked it.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I meant daniel day-lewis, but the master is a great movie

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I just looked up his imdb and I'm afraid I haven't...

they're fucking fungi so just call them that you persnickety nerds. (Love the game, some people can just be annoying about that.) 2

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Oh geez, you sound like The Last of Us fans. "They're not zombies, they're infected, blah blah blahhhh" well if you want to get technical 1

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

It's still a zombie movie, for all intents and purposes.

10 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Post apocalyptic thriller, like Night of the Comet. Not a zombie flick.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

People get bitten, turned into mindless monsters that hunt other people, and society is destroyed Yeah, totally not a zombie movie.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Like if you replaced the infected with standard fast zombies, nothing about the movies would really change.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The directors modified their intended ending to appease viewers check it out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ch2vPwOlEX4&app=desktop

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 3

*infected, not zombies. still best film in the genre though!

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Not a zombie flick. I love lobbies flicks. 28 Days Later still ranks as one of my all time favorite films or any genre.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

It's my feel-good movie.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

PREACH

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I loved Sandra Bullock in that one!

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Lol! We own both of those movies and my fiancé never can get them straight!!! He went thru rehab so he likes both, but later much more.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm sure I'll get some flack for this, but while 28 Days is great, my favorite zombie movie will always be the 2004 Dawn of the Dead.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

28 Days is my personal favorite, but the remake of Dawn of the Dead is a close second. Ving Rhames is the man.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's certainly one of the best but most zombie films are dreadful so of course it'd be up there.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

That may be a contender for unpopular opinion puffin.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

wow yeah I'd never even heard of it before I saw this post, and There Will Be Blood is a total no name movie amirite?

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 4

It's one of my all time favs.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Is that Cillian Murphy?

10 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 1

YES! Do yourself a favor if you haven't seen it, and go watch it. It's excellent.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I did see it a long time ago! But all the chatter about it on the FP makes me want to rewatch; esp b/c I didn't realize that was him in it!

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If I recall correctly you see his junk briefly at the beginning.

10 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

He's also in Sunshine

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You recall correctly. I recall constantly.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

As a man, that is not something that will keep me from seeing the movie. I LOVE him in Peaky Blinders.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

His hair in that is a dealbreaker, attraction-wise, but it is a fantastic show!

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yep.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If only Weeks was just as good.

10 years ago | Likes 39 Dislikes 1

we are finally getting months

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Dont even mention Months

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

i just loved both soundtracks

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

28 decades later

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I thought Weeks was great. Lots of zombie movies have a sniper. None of them nail the sniper scene like that one does.

10 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

While there were good parts, they failed on pretty much everything else in my opinion. Control of access, quarantine protocol, etc.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

The film definitely had its moments but overall it was not as good as the original.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I think I can agree with that.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The mist ending...WHHYYYYY!? I had forgotten about that. Also, europa report was good except for the last scene with mr appendages.

At the mist

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I laughed so hard. I might be a bad human.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

When that psycho lady was finally killed in the mall, my cousin just said "headshot" out loud. Half of the theater applauded :P

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

That was the best horror movie payoff I've ever seen! They not only show it clearly, but they freeze frame and analyze it!

10 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I refuse to watch that movie again just becuase of that scene.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Oh yass. It was one of the biggest holy fuck moments I have experienced in movies

10 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

It made me so angry

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The Mist is the Worst movie i have ever seen...... best bit was when they finally killed that stupid god preaching bitch

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 3

ah yes, it was of the few movies that stuck with me, purely 'mostly of the ending.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

i laughed at the ending of the mist.... it was just ridiculous

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

interesting because stephen king himself said he would have used that ending if he thought it up before. haha

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

same as I laughed at the end of The Boy in Striped Pajamas..... both movies are nice, and just endings destroy you XD

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Whoa, me too on both. Otherwise good movies but those end twists made me laugh instead of being sad or feel compassion for both dads

But Thomas Jane though...

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I called it! I couldn't believe I called it

Japanese tentacles

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I saw Europa report, but I don't recall that scene. Can you remind me?

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

the last scene with the "squid" that was trying to get inside the pod when they were trying to launch.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

No, she lets it in so the cameras can document it, at the cost of her own life.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

space squid. i know extraterrestrial life and whatnot but i'd rather it had been just them and the elements. Woulda been boring for most tho

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

yeah yeah, they realized they couldnt launch with the fucked engine or fuel tank so she lures it in. specifics aside, i was not a fan of (1)

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Are we not going to talk about how the military guy IS Star Killer? I mean, look at how he holds the knife and everything!

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Mist was thee stupidist fucking movie ever. Hate hummanity want it confirmed? watch mist. Also that ending? it's been 5 seconds..FUCK IT!

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 4

I'm 10 mins in. The military's gonna kill the survivors, aren't they.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oh god it's almost worse

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Someone already told me the ending back when it first came out and I still remember it :/ so I havent bothered watching it.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

The Mist is ranked in my all-time most hated movies because of that ending. It was too much.

10 years ago | Likes 41 Dislikes 5

What you on about? its the best bit of this awful movie

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

For me it wasn't the ending, it was that one crazy bitch. Ya'll know the one

10 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 1

Mine too. Every time I watch it I hate it a little more.

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

The ending was like what I'd imagine a fart in the mouth would be like.

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

I agree - although I have to respect a movie that gave me such a visceral response to what I was watching. Felt like vomiting afterward.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Fuck this movie, fuck this movie, fuck this movie. FUCK that ending.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That ending made me love it even more. A happy ending to a story doesn't resonate as much as one gutwrenchingly unfair out unresolved.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It has meaning, too. I mean, he did the right thing at every turn and he's still gonna fucking hate himself for it. Got a lot of themes. :(

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Is this the correct movie? I'd like to watch it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vpn3x2FfEUI

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah that's it. The ending didn't make me angry like it did most people. I love that movie. Plus you'll see some walking dead characters.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Is the ending a twist ending that doesnt make sense? Is it a happy ending? Or is a realistic twist ending, that most people just dont like?

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's not a twist to the plot at all. I don't know why people are calling it a twist, really. There's a dark unexpected bit at the end.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Twist ending, makes sense. I will say no more, watch the film.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It's a realistic twist ending. Like "not everything is unicorns and rainbows" kind of ending.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Thanks! The youtube quality was very bad so I'm watching it on Putlocker right now. Very good so far!

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

post an update on your opinion of the whole film when you finish it

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Haha, sure thing. I've heard a lot of things about the ending to this movie...

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

UPDATE: HOLY SHIT I ALMOST CRIED. I'm not gonna spoil it- but oh my gooooood. I almost broke my spoon in half when that ending unfolded.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I had to stop myself from giggling in the theater. it was so ridiculously cheesy that I couldn't help it.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 4

yeah i gotta his "yelling" was pretty terrible. it was more the fact that the people were unalived that got me.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

gotta say*

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Stephen King said he liked the ending to the movie better than the ending he wrote, and wished he'd thought of that.

10 years ago | Likes 79 Dislikes 1

I'd read the short story, so that ending was doubly surprising as I thought I knew how it would end. Great job by the writers.

10 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

When King admits he's been out grimdarked, you know you're going placed.

10 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

I really appreciate that, awesome of him

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's because Stephen King sucks at endings. I love his books but the man just can't bring em to a close.

10 years ago | Likes 38 Dislikes 1

Ever read a Michael Crichton? "Uh... okay the virus just mutates. The island gets bombed." etc. Random deus ex endings every time, lol.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Don't read the dark Tower series then

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

that's why I honestly prefer his short stories and shy away from his novels. his short stories are usually golden, novels, not so much.

10 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 1

This

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I totally agree.

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I thought the ending of the story was much better. What would he know anyway. He's only Stephen King!

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

oh god. My jaw hit the floor the first time I watched that scene.

10 years ago | Likes 99 Dislikes 1

The book ending was different. Stephen King has actually said he wished he thought of the ending they used in the movie.

10 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Wasn't the mist caused by a scientists attempting to make teleportation but instead open a portal to hell? Or am I thinking of another movie

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Honestly I'll always rank lovecraftian dimensions so much higher than hell. I played doom hell ain't so bad, fuck the elder gods home

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Have you read the short story? Different ending, horrific on an entirely different level.

10 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 0

No King's ending is a happy one, he couldn't think of how to end it until he saw the movie and said damn... that's perfect.

10 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

personally I think driving forever through the mist unable to find help kind of terrifying.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

King's ending was not happy. At the end of it, they were alive, but prospects were... bleak.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

King himself said he was an idiot for not doing the movie ending... He loved it...

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It was happier than this one, this one made me feel terrible and I loved it.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The Mist was terrible, everything about it made no sense, as soon as you get into an Extreme Circumstances situation. you'll see pure garbage

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 8

Thank fuck im not the only one that hates this movie the ending is nothing but hilarious, book was good, killed a stephen king classic

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Umm, what? Everything in it makes perfect sense in the scenario.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

When you fight for your life against a common enemy even religion takes a back seat. The executions/cult were Grey's Anatomy ridiculous.1/2

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

2/2 The ending..Jesus, Let run!(i support that idea).out of gas.Oh well lets all kill ourselves... Waited 5 seconds before deciding. come on

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

He really just wanted to shoot the kid and make up for not wearing a condom 9 years ago, fixing the mistake. That would of mad more sense.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No, not at all. When it comes down to it society will dissolve, and yeah I'd rather kill myself than get eaten by monsters. Dad saved kid.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

yeah, it was really good. For the mist, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u4nZUEkAsw8 wi'l make it better. I just image the tank blaring it

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

The timing on that song start....that's freaking amazing.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Carol from the walking dead???

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

She'll go anywhere where she gets to burn something

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

yep and andrea and dale

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

mine too, i was like OMG... what a waste of time watching this awful movie. RIP stephen king

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 12

That wasn't the ending Stephen King wrote for his book. It was a completely different ending in the movies :P

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

still prolly better than the one king wrote.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It actually was. Stephen King told them "wish he'd thought of that" xD. But the King ending wasn't that bad either.
