FP Edit: Wow, all the way to FP. Thanks for the votes for a first time post. Hope we all learned a little in the process. You guys are awesome!

Boner fuel AR is short for boner fuel

Great. Are you trying to get EVERYTHING banned?!

I have the AR-30 .338 Lapua, and it is just as bad as you'd expect it to be.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I want several.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I own 3 of those, AR-7, AR-10, & AR-15. All quite fun to shoot!

In the dark with a Provo company, a comrade on my left, a comrade on my right and a clip of ammunition in my little armalite

My step dad has an AR-50... its pretty damn awesome.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I have an AR7... Sorta. It's a Henry, and the receiver and barrel break down and store in the stock. Supposedly it floats.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

...That is not how abbreviations/acronyms work.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

but it is how the AR family got named, so call up Armalite's marketing team I guess?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Does it know it's an ad?

AR means assault rifle to me, but it's mostly because of Halo 3

At least since 1970 -- the army has used AR for Assault rifle: http://031d26d.namesecurehost.com/gunfax/fstcp67.jpg

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

yea except the army doesn't use AR-15s... they use M4s... only civilians get any AR rifle

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Just like in the Gang Of Four Song

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Wouldn't the AR-17 be an AS-17 then? Since AR stands for Armalite Rifle, and the AR-17 is a shotgun, not a rifle. Curious. Or is it ARmalite

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Doesn't matter, they're all scary lookin', have 30 caliber magazine clips, and the thing on the shoulder that goes up...so they're evil

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

So, if they make an AR-15 with a shorter barrel does it became an AC-15 for Armalite Carbine?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

No it becomes an SBR with a Tax stamp and a year+ waiting period

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

That AR-17 is a beautiful piece of craftsmanship.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Ehh, I still prefer the AR-17 Rifle.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

I belive it has to do with pirates.

The shotgun is a little confusing, though, since it doesn't have rifling

So "Armalite" ruined it for EVERYONE. Why couldn't they just name the company "Fluffy Pew Pews"--good luck making that sound ominous.

9 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 2

Armalite revolutionized our ground troop's effectiveness in the field. AR-15 being so versatile, tough, and easily repairable.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Not to mention customization and multi-role. My AR-15 turns into a .458SOCOM boar hunting rifle with 2 pins.

CNN says your wrong. Thousands of bullets in a single trigger pull.

CNN wouldn't know an AR-15 from a PTRD if you hit them in the head with the stock.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Been there, done that.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

50 aint shit unless you're talking about a naval gun. Artillery is artillery, a .50 caliber rifle is still just a rifle.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

for scale to the uninformed, a typical artillery piece is 3-6 caliber (by small arms terminology.)

Surgically precise up to 2,000 yards, and a 'maximum range' 7,440 yards. That's over 4 miles. Let that sink in for a second.

Sturmgewehr meant more assault-rifle. Abbreviations on manufacturers with the first 2 letters was pretty common during and after ww2.

9 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 2

Sturmgewehr meant storm rifle to be more accurate. Sturm= storm, gewehr= rifle.

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 2

Well it also could mean storm gun as well. Because gewehr is translated as either rifle or gun.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Storm as in 'to storm a building'.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Well, pretty sureit also stands for "assault" or "attack" too. The English word is a direct translation, pretty much. Just saying.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

For instance, "zum Sturm blasen" translates to "to sound the attack", does it not?

"To storm" being quite literally the same as "assault" and "attack", and the two are certainly more correct translations in most cases.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

For instance, in the case of "Stürmerreihe". My point being that "assault rifle" carries over the actual meaning of the word better.
