A shameful ND on Imgur.

In basic training my brother-in-law was made to cut the grass in front of the barracks with fingernail clippers.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Just at the range today myself. Didn’t do this once

If they wanted it to look real he could have at least flinched.

4 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Is that Dick Cheney?

4 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Marines are riflemen first and foremost. For a Jarhead to forget the most basic clearing procedure (SPORTS) is just unforgivable.

4 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 1

That made that angry guy a lot angrier.

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

You just made me laugh so hard I almost barfed.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Slap the mag always. If there is some sort of failure cycle the weapon and notify range Master.

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

I think he accidentally pressed the release

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I don’t know anything about guns. Please explain

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

He fucked up.

4 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Magazine fell out (bad). He lowered weapon to wait for line to stop before picking up (good). Discharged chambered round into ground (bad)

Thanks

Your confusion of movie quotes is disturbing. Marky Mark was in both of them though, I'll give you that

But both are fun

The second half of this clip is Gordon Ramsey holding two pieces of bread to his ears and reminding him that he’s an idiot sandwich.

The guy in charge:

4 years ago | Likes 126 Dislikes 1

Why, the dude is there to learn. Supervisor should have checked that everything was good to go be4.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 9

As someone that did a bit of line coaching, yeah, yeah that face real hard. And then

4 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 1

Nah, the MMT is blessed this day with the opportunity to channel his seething rage into the unprepared lower enlisted.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Poor weapon awareness. We had a guy fire off a round inside the armory while we cleaned weapons for turn in, ricocheted off the walls, scary

4 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 0

Yeah we had something like that. Guy forgot the other steps before function check. It functioned. Fortunately muzzle was in a clearing barre

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Worst part, my dude was a staff Sergeant (E6), walked right past the clearing barrel, and it was another Sgt.'s weapon and not his own.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

We'd just come in from the range and they pulled the old, we're so busy, let's just toss these weapons in the armory and go; skip the rules.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Also, while in country (Iraq) had a Sgt. from a training unit shoot a live AT4 in a school circle, Yeah... amputation of a soldier's leg...

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This is after a Spc. said to him, the yellow band means that one is hot Sgt., you want the black band and he scoffed and fired it off. Jeez.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Uh oh. Wonder what the punishment was.

4 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

Pushups until the sergeant is tired.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

When it rains, he'll mop outside until it's clean and dry.

4 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 1

Don’t punish in the service, we have corrective actions. His arms are about to get a lot stronger and he’ll be clearing rifles in his sleep

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Probably picked up all the brass himself or did a push up for ever piece of brass that was collected lol

4 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 1

Depends on the branch/command. Did some linecoaching in the navy and if someone ND'd? Instant loss of gun quals. Get the fuck off the range

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

what if its s hang fire

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Should've kept it pointed down range.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

"ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME" The drill sergeant said calmly.

4 years ago | Likes 159 Dislikes 0

Nah, that saunter over is a Sgt at most. Staff would have been a dead sprint and gunny would have tackled him

4 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

Sorry drill Sgt would be army and no way a drill instructor is running the range

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

There's a scope attached to that rifle as well. Not a chance in fucking Hell recruits would be given attachments. Iron sights all the way.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Gotta disagree there. I went to mcrd in '11 and shot iron sights, the newbies we got after I joined the fleet said they shot with the ACOG

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Really? Damn. I don't know that. MCRD in 06, nothing but iron. We'd get fucked up for even dreaming of having an ACOG

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

He should have said that he WAS kidding. Then, they could all hug and laugh together.

4 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

First thing I was taught handling a M4, safety is off when firing and immediately on when lowering the muzzle. No exceptions

4 years ago | Likes 65 Dislikes 1

Wow look at Mr fancy over here who got hisself a fancy m4. As a wrecker I was supposed to get an m4 and an m9. Didn't even get qualled

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

on the pistol and dragged a fukkin musket all over the ghan

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Just keep your finger off the trigger. You have to clear your jam and get back to shooting

4 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

well the exception is that you have to go off safety to uncock the weapon obviously...which is mandatory to establish security...except you>

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

>are supposed to check the chamber for rounds beforehand, which he didnt...but essentially, the procedure worked and caught that live round>

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

>in that weapon so it wouldnt leave the firing range...so only a minor fuck up...<<<

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Even the safety isn't full proof. I've seen gun handling demos where the safety has failed.

4 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 3

M4s have non positive safeties. It only blocks the trigger from being pulled. It doesn't block the firing pin. Not that this mattered above.

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

AR15,M4s,M16s etc, have a floating firing pin.Unless that rifle is in serious need of maintenance (unlikely) it will not fire with safety on

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

True but it's just a layer. Engaging the safety pulls your finger off the trigger. And if the gun still goes off, there is a malfunction

4 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 2

On an M16/M4/AR you can cycle the safety with your thumb. If the gun goes off, it is on the shooter.

4 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

foolproof, not full proof.

4 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 0

Yeah my bad

4 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

assuming that it'll fire w/o the magazine in is the desired result ?

4 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 4

This course of fire (USMC Table 2) does not include "mud 3 feet in front of shooter" as a valid target. Few do.

4 years ago | Likes 49 Dislikes 0

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Only if you pull the trigger.

4 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

With the safety off, which their training is supposed to be “if you’re not actively shooting this instant, safety goes right back on”

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

You are supposed to keep your booger hook off the bang switch until you are ready to bring the hate.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Absolutely, but there’s multiple rules for redundancy

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Trigger discipline comes before the mechanical safety.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If there's one still in the chamber, it'll fire. That's why you show chamber open to someone else.

4 years ago | Likes 89 Dislikes 0

(when handing over a weapon)

4 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 0

Then they check it themselves after taking it.

4 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 0

I will 100% watch someone check it, show me the chamber is empty, hand it over, and I will check it again. Every time.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And then still always treat it as if it's loaded ( which this guy still did. Barrel down and away from people)

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Always
