A couple weeks ago I posted a gif of a Jim prank on Dwight that made it to the FP. I was SHOCKED how many people commented and messaged me all kinds of shit about Jim being a bully and social ramifications of supporting it and rah-rah-rah. I gotta set some shit straight.

Look, Jim is not a bully, and Jim and Dwight are not even enemies. They're office adversaries, yeah, but just beneath the surface they're actually best fucking friends. You'd have to watch more than a handful of soundless moving images to pick up on this, but Jim is consistently there for Dwight when he truly needs help.

This isn't the story of a man bullying a weak and vulnerable person. Dwight is a perfectly capable (though his methods are strange) and confident adversary. These two men are pretty evenly matched.

I wish I knew why it's important to me that you idiots that commented and messaged me are aware of this. There are certainly more productive things I could be doing. But, for whatever reason, it is.

Thanks for your time, evil minions of user sub.

FP Edit: Send me schrute bucks and strange Google street view photos

Ok, those idiots have obviously never seen the office. The Jim & Dwight friendship/interations are hands down the best parts of the show

did they know that Dwight calls everyone an idiot?

Bedwetting whiners. They are evenly matched..ish.

Or the time Jim prevented Dwight from getting fired for the Sabre store?

People just enjoy finding things to be offended about.

Dwight asked Jim to be his bestest mench

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

The office right? Or is it called aomething else?

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I always thought they had a sort of love/hate friendship.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

They obviously have never watched more than 1 episode of The Office. Children piss me off.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 4

How about the episode where Jim has to wrestle a power-crazed Dwight from going into a conference room that's about to fire him as VP

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

As a Nietzschean, we value our enemies even more highly than our friends.

The episode where Jim and Dwight tag-team a sale is one of my favorite episodes. They work well together.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Great post. Agreed. I love that Jim sits in the hall and consoles Dwight about Angela. Your points are valid.

10 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 2

Love that scene. Especially when Dwight goes to reach for him, and Jim's no longer there :D

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

wanted to add that one in but couldn't find a decent quality video and I'm not smart enough to pirate shit off netflix

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Dang man that'd be super frustrating if it happened.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Welcome to Internet, where cute cat gifs and idiots run wild.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 4

Like, have they seen them make a sale together? They're the dynamic duo of paper sales.

The episode where Jim and Dwight tag-team a sale is one of my favorite episodes.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I always remember at the end when Dwight fires Jim. That alone showed how he really felt.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I just watched the episode where they have to plan Kelly's birthday party together. Classic

10 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

It's not like she discovered cancer. I worked really hard on this!

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Bullying is bad. Healthy competition can bring out some of the best work/art between friendly adversaries.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Besten Menschen. Even got Steve Carell back for the last episode. All y'all are idiots.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Dwight was an unhappy asshole. Jim helped him become a happy man. Now make me a post about when Pam puked at her desk on purpose. Thanks.

If their only exposure to The Office is Office gifs, and the only Office gifs that get posted are Jim pranks, Jim looks kinda like a jerk.

10 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 7

I've only seen a little of The Office outside of Imgur gifs, but what I remember is that Dwight is downright scary at times so pranks are ok

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

I asked Dwight how we will get a key if he dies and he replied "if I'm dead then you all would have been dead for a long time."

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Love how people get real serious over a TV SHOW PEOPLE!!!

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

I think you have to lighten up if you're taking those comments seriously.

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 4

this is a life or death situation right here i don't think you understand

10 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 4

OP clearly gets the seriousness of the situation

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

best quote about their frienemy stance is when Jim says “I knew Dwight would try to get to me when I returned, but I didn’t know it’d work”

Love this

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

Calling anyone "overly sensitive" automatically means you're just being overly sensitive about whatever they said.

10 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 13

Careful. Lots of people here are overly sensitive of over-sensitiveness

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

HOW DARE YOU

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

That doesn't even make a little sense. I don't have to be overly sensitive to think that people being upset over trivial things are dunces.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

But what if it's a money beet?

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I don't know what's worse: that there are people out there who haven't watched The Office, or that you actually made this post for them.

10 years ago | Likes 118 Dislikes 4

I tried. It did not amuse me at all. Imgur shares, so I get some of it, thats enough for me, to be honest.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I like having a reminder of how awesome that relationship was.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I feel like I've watched The Office from all the posts about it

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Made him about 2000 points, so there's that.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Haha nice.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The fact that this site has come to personal messaging rampages over the morals of a TV show is what really gets me.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Jim was the best man at Dwight's wedding. Sounds like bullying to me.

10 years ago | Likes 917 Dislikes 4

make me your best man or i'm taking your lunch money, dork

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Although I was not fond of Jim , him and Dwight were worthy opponents.

No the best man has to be older. Tradition

10 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 2

I've never heard this ever. The best man TRADITIONALLY was a swordsman to help defend the grooms honor in a duel challenge.

10 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 3

If you ever plan to watch the series, I suggest you stop posting/reading replies. If you don't plan to, someone will spoil it for you soon.

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I think of that part of the show like the list season of Scrubs. Never happened.
