STOP ASKING KIDS!! GO LOOK AT THE FUCKING WALL!!!!#

9 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 0

Guys... The time is probably AM vs PM, exact 12 hour difference. I'd use a digital clock with an indicator though, but that's just me.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Great post. As a member of the Armed Forces, this really resonates. So many people have no clue of the sacrifice of those that stay behind.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 4

This seems kind of weird honestly. But to each their own.

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 3

As a therapist, the clocks and other things are encouraged for young kids while a parent is deployed to help them adjust.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I think daddy has another family.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

From my experience this is missing daddy's replacement while he's gone

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 4

time until he plays with your nipple... again.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Oh wow a world map. Do these exist in US? Can anybody mail one to FOX news/CNN?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Now that's a great mom/wife/partner/guardian/grandparent/uncle or aunt/non Pokemon go player?

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I didn't want to presume, but that's some great parents on both sides

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This is both sweet and sad.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

That's too cool, would be hard for him to feel like you aren't excited for his return.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

When he tells you he wants to exchange ideas, what he wants is to exchange fluids

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Too close to home right now.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

My dad is a sailor so I grew up with him missing most of the time. I turned out alright after all.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Same! He made all the times he was there awesome, so that's all I really remember. And making crafts with my mom to send to him.

comic sans ms

9 years ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 8

Yeah, but it fits this application. Comic sans was meant for Children's Parties, and Flyers for light hearted Activities like Arts and Craft

9 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

It's not Comic Sans. Awkward for you.

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

omg. You are right......my bad

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What are the jars for?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I've seen this posted twice on Facebook. FWD:FWD:FWD:FWD

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

This is a lovely way for the kids to understand why daddy or mommy can't be there, and where they are at the moment.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Well this is sad/cute

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Excellent...!!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

This makes me sad

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

This cute shit stops after a couple months. Then it's "__ Days until 'Uncle' Jody visits again."

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 5

Daddy's training in the hyperbolic time chamber to defeat Cell.

Now that was on purpose!

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

+1 for the gloriously insensitive username. Awesome

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 2

I snorted when i see the username. Im in a work meeting dammit. +1

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I concur. Who's he talking about, Lancel?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

When I was younger we made a paper chain with a link for each day my dad was deployed, and each day we watched the chain get shorter

9 years ago | Likes 57 Dislikes 1

That's really adorable

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

If I did that with my husband id be adding on weeks randomly

9 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 0

That fucking sucks.

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

We are used to it, like if they say August 1st we know its going to be like October

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Not trying to be a dick, but doesn't this constantly remind the kids dad's still not here?

9 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 18

Sure it does, but it keeps him part of their lives and that is important even if it is a bit sad. This way they are including him in life.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

My dad was in the Navy and we loved doing things like this to remind us of him. We would send him crafts and videos all the time. It helps.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You shouldn't have been down voted for an honest question. Yes, it reminds them of his absence. It's healthy for them to know where he is.

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

No it shows them he is protecting their freedom, and will be coming home! Dick

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 17

You're right. Thanks for opening my eyes with blanket generalizations, impossible future predictions, & name-calling. I bet u vote 4 Trump.

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 9

hahah yes sir I will be forced too, being my civic duty! you liberals aren't any better ya know!

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 14

I'd add impossible present day predictions to the list, too

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

why do you need a separate clock for daddy when it's the same time?

9 years ago | Likes 38 Dislikes 3

Daddy's either 12-24 hours different or... I don't know... Time for a sandwich.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Could be at the moment the times are 12 hours apart, but wasnt before or could change later.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Because he hasn't left yet maybe?

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

He is probably home.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Plot twist: dad has severe shell shock...thinks he's Ethel Merman.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

EVERYTHINGS COMIN UP ROOOOOOOSES!

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Because a man's gotta have some time to himself?

9 years ago | Likes 89 Dislikes 0

Heeyy, that's pretty goood!

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

I smell some idubzzz

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The time looks exactly the same tho?

9 years ago | Likes 1117 Dislikes 10

He ded?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

Good news, Daddy's home!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Daddy came home today.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What if, at the moment. Daddy's home....

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Maybe he sleeps on the couch

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

National Guardsman deployed stateside

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Thats because he's home when the picture was taken.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

On my phone black means night, sooo

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Daddy probably 12 hours ahead of them.. same like philippines and any other Eastern standard time zones in the US.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Daddy's deployment suggests he's in the military and goes overseas often. My dad deployed 7 times during my childhood. This is awesome!

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Maybe hasn't left yet and they just built the setup?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

call of duty man

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Nah, it's 24 hours ahead.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

I just assumed that Daddy's home, considering no obvious kid-sized marking on the map.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

AM/PM

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Maybe he's home

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

e x a c t l y

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

maybe they sleep in different bedrooms

9 years ago | Likes 181 Dislikes 0

Lol

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Hes at home now. But when at mission the times chanfe

9 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

Ch-ch-ch-ch-chanfes... Turn and face the stranfe.

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

you, I like you

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Hes actually around the block

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Maybe he goes to more than one place on various deployments

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Maybe he's home currently

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And there's no mail. He's probably about to leave and they just made that.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Because OP took this from Pinterest and JoMyGosh. Not OC

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

He is home with everyone!!

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Maybe hasn't left yet?

9 years ago | Likes 240 Dislikes 0

Would make sense as the map might be marked to the area of his deployment and as far as I can see it isn't make yet

9 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

Could be about deployment infosec. Not posting online destination. Even time difference on clocks could give clue to theatre.

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

yeah that was my thought too

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Maybe he's in the dog house

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Maybe it's maybelline

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

You magnificent bastard

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

He moves around to different stations, some might be stateside in the same timezone

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Maybe he's home right now.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And this is why I use 24hr time whenever a device supports it. To hell with AM and PM. (Also fuck you daylight saving time.)

9 years ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 2

I say we standardize on 24 hour UTC with no time zones. Base 10 hours minutes and seconds would be icing on the cake.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

If that were to happen, "it happened at 1300" would mean vastly different things by longitude. Times would lose their meaning.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Okay?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

While we're at it, let's fix the calendar. 13 months, 28 days each. No more figuring out what day of the week the 17th is, it is always 1/

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Tuesday. But wait you say, that's only 364 days? New Years Day is a special day that lives outside of the months and weeks. Leap years 2/

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

have a double New Years. 3/3

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Op sec? Not wanting to reveal the location of a deployment.

9 years ago | Likes 76 Dislikes 5

Haha +1 for op sec

9 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 4

OPSEC, and time zone without any other identifying info reveals nothing. There are active ops in every zone simultaneously. So, no.

9 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 4

Jeez, thank you.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I alway have time to +1 to maintain op sec

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 3

+1ing OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

I'm going to a stab at somewhere in the Middle East

What in gods name is your username??

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

LrrrRulerOfOmicronPerseiAte

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Exactly 12 hours forward?

9 years ago | Likes 623 Dislikes 2

OR 12 hours backwards?

9 years ago | Likes 513 Dislikes 2

24 hour clock seems practical here.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Perfect. She should call him and ask for winning lottery numbers, who's going to win games, etc and cash in on that.

9 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 1

"But why didnt china call america and warn them about the attacks like 3 million ppl died"

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

But there's no difference on an analog clock...

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

If he's in afghanistan, parts of the country are exactly 12 hours ahead.

9 years ago | Likes 72 Dislikes 0

Depending on daylight savings.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Except Afghanistan is a single time zone off set by 30 minutes from standard ones.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Or you could be in the stupid part that's 12:30 ahead... Fucking Afghanistan.

9 years ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 1

Used to call the family from tomorrow when I was deployed. Still have a watch set to Zulu time in my night stand.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Pardon the uninformed, I assume zulu time is time at home?

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

zulu is UTC time. +000

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Zulu time is used as a universal time marker. It's so the worldwide military can coordinate. You just calculate your time zone when needed

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Still, what's the fucking point of having 2 clocks then?

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 4

He probably moves around.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Yeah if you go from Germany to Iraq or Afghanistan. Significant time changes. But I will have to remember thus walk for the future.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Please read previous comments...

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

To help the kids understand.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

How would 2 clocks help the kids when they show the exact same time?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Could be 36hrs ahead ;)

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Wait...what?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

A day, and 12 hours.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Thank you, Capt. Obvious. On my planet, which is Earth, such a large time difference is impossible.
