Here in Tucson they are "bike friendly" and redo major streets for like one bike an hour

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I don't think bikers wants to be treated like a car. Only similarity between bikes/cars are the wheels.. the rules should be different.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 3

They are supposed to obey all the laws of a car. I they don't you have a legal right to run them over.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

What I don't get is how they don't fear a collision in which they 99%would not win.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Can someone load that Top Gear faux commercial making fun of cyclists not being able to tell red from green?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

A cyclist once cut me off while I was trying to turn right. In a hearse. With my flashing lights on. With a funeral procession behind me

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

As a biker I don't feel we should be treated like cars, we just don't belong on the road I just don't want to run pedestrians down

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

"I dare you to not kill me, it's super funny and passive aggressive" - Asshole cyclists. You ruin it for the good'ns, you cunts.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Is nobody going to point out the spelling of "intersection"?

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 3

I bike as my primary mode of transportation and I can get behind this 70%. So many idiot cyclists out there. Oh so many.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

They're in the minority, but people are more likely to remember moron cyclists than law abiding ones.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'm a cyclist and I totally agree with this. I hate douche bags giving us a bad name.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Used bike trail, hit by car. Used bike lane, but by car. Used car lane, flipped off and honked at. Which would you use

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 2

*hit by not but ... gahhh

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Today I was turning in an intersection following legal road rules. I got pushed into the curb totally my fault for my injuries.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

i just want a separate bike path!

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

Me too! Although I don't think it'd happen on a bigger scale since people like parking on the side of the road...

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I saw one try and buzz across 5 lanes of traffic only thing was the right turn had a green arrow. 15 feet in the air & a flip. So much blood

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

As a cyclist, fuck those guys. Just as hard as asshole cardrivers tho. There's bad apples in every demo, so don't lump everybody together...

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

As a dutch guy, i wouldnt cycle in the USA. Infrastructure doesnt support it well. Aswell as not having a death wish myself.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

General driving etiquette? Where do you live? I haven't seen that in 20 years.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Ah man, he almost went out like Million Dollar Baby.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

To be fair rollers are ridiculously hard to ride on.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Near where I live, there are paved bike paths 10 feet off the road. A solid 30% of cyclists still ride in the street.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Are they continuous? My city has them, but they end abruptly. It's easier to ride in the road than try to merge when they end.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

They are continuous and explicitly for bicycles. Plus while pedestrian traffic is allowed in the bike paths, it's always low.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Hate when a Bicyclist is in front of you on a non-pass road & they won't get over, creating a traffic jam just so they could ride...

9 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 11

I've let cars by me in this situation, and then they zoom past me with just inches to spare! Dicks!

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

As a cyclist it can be more dangerous to let cars pass. However if the person behind me isn't a dickbag I'll usually let them pass.

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 4

I don't want to be treated as a car, I want to be treated as a human being.

9 years ago | Likes 35 Dislikes 8

Most human beings are afraid of cars and do their best not to get run over by them. try starting there

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 9

Should have thought about that before installing those wheels, you damn transformer!

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

I don't know a single automobile driver who follows all the rules of the road.

9 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 7

I doubt you know any people that know all the rules of the road.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I stop at stop signs and red lights at least

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

And do you stop completely behind the sidewalk at all stop signs? Never pass another car at crosswalks?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

BUT GUESS WHAT! CAR DRIVERS ALL FOLLOW THE RULES OF THE ROAD TO SUCH PRECISION THEY ARE ALL IN PERFECT HARMONY UNTIL THE CYCLIST COMES ALONG

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 6

Moronic false equivalency. There being bad drivers doesn't override the fact that cyclists tend to be worse.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 7

yep there you are, one sided moron, you are the bias type of inbred that doesn't know what it's like to cycle among cars, only then will you

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

realize that car drivers do not indicate, do not look in their mirrors, no not show respect for a more vulnerable road user and also

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

randomly yank on the steering wheel thinking there is nobody around them. That is the reality, i don't agree with anyone disobeying road

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

rules including cyclists, but you can't just fucking say that car drivers are saints because guess what, there are thousands more accidents

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

As a cyclist, you forgot: passing on the right, not signaling, ignoring pedestrian right of way and not yeilding to me at a stop sign.

9 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 12

Passing on the right? Is that an issue? Would you like us to mount the pavement to overtake?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

When I'm riding my bike, pass me on your bike on the left. These are things other cyclists so that irritate me when I'm riding.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

HE'S MENTIONING OTHER ISSUES, SAYING THAT YOU SHOULDN'T BE PASSING ON THE RIGHT. SO HE WOULD NOT LIKE YOU TO MOUNT THE PAVEMENT TO OVERTAKE.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

Then again, car drivers don't want us to pass them on the left either. How are we supposed to pass then?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Pass other bikes and pedestrians on the left, pass cars on the right -but only if there is a bike lane. If the road has sharrows, don't pass

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah, nah. I'm not passing turning cars on the right. Trust me on that one. Learned it the hard way.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Jesus, dude. The caps lock button is on the left, turn it off

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

NO.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I don't want to be treated like a car. However the law says that since the wheel size on my bike is over 24" I have to share the road 1/2

9 years ago | Likes 38 Dislikes 7

in the city i live in police only enforce the no bikes on sidewalks law if your being an idiot, cuz ya its not safe on the road (1)

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

but if you hit a pedestrian your gunna hurt someone (2)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

with cars. The same cars driven by people who complain about how other car drivers drive. Give us our own bike lanes and everyone is happy.

9 years ago | Likes 39 Dislikes 10

They still would use the car lanes (i know i'm maybe ditch)

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 5

Sadly... in a few cities where whole bike "roads" exist in some areas, they still insist on biking in the car lanes.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Go live for a while in Copenhagen; It's pretty fantastic with the bike lanes. Saves the city a ton of money too.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

It's not exactly easy to just make a bike lane, especially in commercial areas

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Until people put things in the bike lanes. *sigh*

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Here we put bike lanes and they ride in the road next to the bike lane, because "share the road."

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I live in Seattle, where mayor "Mike Schwinn" has attempted this concept. It doesn't work. The bike lane is a enigma.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

HAHAHAHA....you funny. Like Cyclists stick to their lane. They think anytime they're on their bike its the Tour De France....

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 6

Yeah, just pay for it and thats ok

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 19

Who says we don't?

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 4

You pay for a plate and tabs?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

You should see these fucking animals in NYC. No regard for any laws.

9 years ago | Likes 136 Dislikes 24

I mean, to be fair assholes have mastered every possible means of conveyance.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

woah easy, animals can't read you know its not really fair.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

And Miami

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They wasted millions of dollars and eliminated car lanes in downtown Seattle for those aholes and they still manage to get in the way

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

And portland, oregon

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The clubs I ride with in Portland will kick you out of the group rides and not let you back if you don't follow traffic laws while riding

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

And also cars

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Seattle too. Ugh. And just about any skate park

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

To be fair, nobody follows traffic laws in NYC.

9 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 0

They just drive at you she they want to change lanes.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Especially the pedestrians. I had to rev my engine towards people just to get across the interception while it's green

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Sorry you live in NYC.

9 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 4

It's the ole job-eroni keeping me in this smutty city

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

Work! The curse of the drinking classes ...

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Couldn't you find the same or similar job in city that isn't crowded/polluted, and doesn't have an insane cost of living?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Not if it's investment banking, sad bois

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Na I'm in media

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

There aren't media jobs outside NYC? Seriously asking, I've never even been to NY.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And SF

9 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 0

I bike in SF. It's bad. Those green bike lanes haven't helped much either. Be more like Berkeley guys. :(

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

And Portland

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

Didn't know Portland was a big bike city. I'm looking to move there in a few years and I bike everywhere. I'm excited now.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And the Netherlands. You would think in nl They would know How to bike

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The Netherlands is massive compared to all US 'bike' cities combined. It's part of the culture there it seems.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It is. Everyone knows how to bike in NL, and is a great way to move around here. But there are Always a**es on the road, unfortunately

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Today the speed limit is 55mph im coming up to a intersection 3 of them run the red. Barely missed them. They all tell me im number 1.

9 years ago | Likes 184 Dislikes 11

Man some cyclists can be assholes but for the most part their pretty chill

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I really wish the cops would start cracking down on cyclists who break traffic laws, its a major safety hazard for everyone.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Totally, so dangerous that 36,000 people are killed by them every year. Err wait, its the actual major safety hazard that does that.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 5

well obviously you are, you managed not to hit their stupid asses.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Number 1 bwahaha never heard that

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

I'm sorry I do t understand could you explain?

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

(Thank you for asking)

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Gave him the finger.

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

(Thank you for answering)

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

As a cyclist, I yell at these people.

9 years ago | Likes 118 Dislikes 11

So thankful for the Mexicans in my area. If it weren't for them I'd hate all cyclists.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Having grown up on a bike in a country with a bike culture, I too get really pissed off and shouty at asshole cyclists.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Same. They're rude and a danger to others and themselves.

9 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Yeah, i cycle all over, and the confidence of 70 kgs of meat on two wheels fighting with tons of steel never ceases to amaze me.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Today a cyclist ran the light I stopped for, and another bicycle came out of nowhere like a blur and caught him. Police cyclist. Ticket.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I called a guy out for running a stop sign and he said, "I just rode across the city, and it's a I fellow cyclist that calls me out"

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Don't want to get yelled at, but if cycling is done right, it's a really good thing. I get that there are dickheads, but we should try to

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Promote it still.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As a cyclist, I'm not fit enough to lose all my momentum and start again. Fuck everyone else.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 8

May you be hit by a car, jackass

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Been hit by a car, wasn't my fault either, so now I ride a bike with my safety in mind. Ty.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Maybe getting hit by a car will help keep momentum? Cause that may happen sooner or later.... i bike safe and still have been hit 9 times.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah I've been hit. Not my fault either. I simply just don't stop unless necessary. Factoring energy expenditure too lol

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Then get a motorized chair because we don't need your fat lazy ass in the bike lane.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Im a bodybuilder haha, Im not fat either, I just can't do marathons, I'm more of a sprint kind of guy.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And I hope one day you get hit by a car and learn not to be suck a prick

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Been hit buddy, not my fault either. Which has enforced the attitude of exclusively looking out for my safety, ya dig?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

So you blow through red lights and violate traffic laws designed for safety? Thats real smart.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No because that wouldn't be looking out for my safety. I mean like pedestrian crossing lights etc.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Me also. I am a pretty good cyclist been cycling (lots) since the age of 6, people who do this i give them a chat after the ride about 1/?

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

How moronic and stupid the act was they just pulled. I used to go out with a guy who would ride in the middle of the road and swear 2/?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Just as long as you don't skim parked cars. Riding in the "door zone" is equally bad. Motorists need to now this and abide.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Oh of course.. you have to take what is safe on that road at that time.. This guy would ride in the middle of the road everywhere!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

at cars as they drove past close to him but in reality it was his fault for riding in the middle of the road. On the other hand there 3/?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

a hell of alot of people who drive cars who are assholes. People on both sides need to be educated and British Cycling telling 4/?

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Everyone to ride 2 abreast is stupid and dangerous yes you are allowed by law to ride two across. Does that mean it is safe to? No. 5/?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0
