Another victim of texting and razor scootering.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Guess they missed the part where the road went left 😏

Broken ribs and a concussion? Looks so painful.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

They're gonna feel that in the morning

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Straight tiger woods this accident. No brakes no turn just send it lol

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Testing out the ol’ rib cage

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Deserved that or not, that looked bloody painful and hope the person is okay. I reckon a lesson may have been taught.

You okay there Scooter?

3 years ago | Likes 68 Dislikes 0

Nah, the handle bars broke off.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Looks like some broken ribs to me...

At least.

I'm sorry, the gasp of air at the end is funny as hell.

An object in motion tends to stay in motion UNTIL....

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Immovable Object used immovable. It was SUPER EFFECTIVE.

3 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

The groan after. Not surprising at that speed, but damn

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

the high vis jacket did nothing!

3 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

The jacket worked, we didn't need a red circle to highlight the crash.

I nearly got cleaned up yesterday by a dickhead riding an escooter flat out on the footpath. Those things are almost totally silent.

3 years ago | Likes 58 Dislikes 4

They're almost totally illegal, too. Outside of speed-restricted e-scooters for hire in a few cities, they're banned in public.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

Depends on where you live. My state doesn't have too much on them.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm talking about the UK where this particular video is from. Private e-scooters are 100% illegal on public land across the entire nation.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Ah ha! I was unaware of that.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Mine came with a bell.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

they are even more silent if they are not e-scooters like the one in the video.

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Courteous people yell out, "passing on your left" or something to that extent.

3 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

limited experience. I usually just start screaming after 20 mph so everyone knows I’m coming and not in control. Jesus take the handlebar

3 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Ha ha

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ouch.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That looked bad. Broken ribs at least with strong probability of internal bleeding.

3 years ago | Likes 49 Dislikes 1

At least the scooter caught some of the impact. The broken handlebar might have spared them a broken rib or two.

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Ugh... Totally. I feel super bad for this person. Everybody makes mistakes.

3 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 0

Near me, a university kid on his bike hit a slack line hanging between trees. Stopped his heart, didn't start up again. :(

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

That's too bad. Very sad indeed.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I have to ask, what was the goal here? How did they NOT see the gate? A rope I could understand not seeing, but THAT???

3 years ago | Likes 375 Dislikes 0

Kid's probably watching the path right in front of him. It's "steady as she goes" til right about the pole. then you see him wiggle a bit/

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

as realization hits and he see's it. I have a feeling this is a normal daily path and that gate is usually open. 'til today anyway. oof

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Grey gate against grey ground with grey sky maybe?

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

You ever try to use the brake on a razor scooter on wet asphalt?

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

They seem to be bracing pretty early. Bad brakes?

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Maybe the hoodie is limiting his field of vision

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Does it look like he’s looking off to his right? And as others have suggested, the gate is usually open?

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Maybe bad eyesight? Gate blended with the background? I'm with you. I don't know how they couldn't see it.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

the video is reversed

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Looks like what happens when you don't look where you are going.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

This happened to me once. Tho it was a single string of bard wire and I slit my neck opened. Never saw it coming

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

RIP.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Only explanation I can come up with, is that the gate might always be open. He doesn't see it because he doesn't expect it to be there.

3 years ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 2

See that path worn out around the post? Who walks around an open gate?

3 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 0

There's pavement not gated off right before that, between the gate and the bollard.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Looks likes it's very wet, possibly still raining. From experience, rain and condensation can obscure your vision if you wear glasses.

3 years ago | Likes 44 Dislikes 0

Not to mention looks downhill and for all we know they are braking. The real problem is they were going too fast for the conditions.

3 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

Scooters: notoriously good at braking when at speed downhill on bumpy ground in the rain

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Seems like he breaks about 0.1 second away from the gate

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Guessing was on autopilot: route taken daily, used to the gate always being open…until it wasn’t…

3 years ago | Likes 170 Dislikes 2

I went to and from work on that thing for year and half and never autopiloted into a wall... That person is either blind or asleep...

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The worn down dirt path around the gate support would suggest that the gate isn't usually open...

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I've often on autopilot, but I am always aware of whats around me.

3 years ago | Likes 35 Dislikes 6

probably was too close to brake in time when he realized, it's like with a deer, he sees that he will crash into it and freezes

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Scooters have auto pilot ? Like it steers for you ?

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No, mental autopilot for the rider. Kind of like how you can drive back and forth to work & not really remember doing it

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

No one is 100% aware of what’s around them all the time. The human brain doesn’t work that way.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Cue the guy with no awareness and no scooter brakes XD

3 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Doesn't sound like autopilot to me

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

It’s a pretty stupid and useless gate too.

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

I dunno. If it's purpose is to keep inattentive idiots on scooters off the trail, I'd say it's doing a fantastic job of it.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This looks British, in which case the earth banks and gate are to prevent travellers camping there.

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I'm guessing to keep cars of the path?

3 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

There are other ways to do that (metal poles?). The gate also caused that path around it if you look closely. Unnecessary.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Here they have two half gates which leaves space between for walking and biking, but not enough for cars

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

He would have just run into the pole.
