Boats: " Pick me!! Pick me!!! Yaay, WEEEEE!!"

As a man with forklift certification, this is giving anelkaphilia. I just made that up by mangling the Greek word for lift and adding philia, but that's what I have now.

Nice but now I wanna see the machine!

Here’s an operator who knows to set the parking brake at water’s edge

11 months ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

I get that reference (sorry, don't know how to do the Cap'n America thing).

Having had family with a boat and a small houseboat, the one thing I will never do is buy a boat. I will rent one, as these things will burn through money like you would not believe.

"A hole in the water you throw money into"

11 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Gettin me an electric outboard yo. I'll be across the waves and into your dreams like a demon's whisper. Silent, you see. Like sailing except not as much tilty bullshit.

11 months ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

So all the boats are the same width?

Hahaha - look at the poors with only a single engine! Cringe!

I was invited to go on a wealthy friends boat for a ride some years ago. It was a twin engine and he had them fill them up with gas. Couldn't believe my eyes when he showed me the receipt for €4000.

11 months ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

I was invited to so a booze cruise. We loaded up on a skif thinking we'd be on someone's yacht. A long ride later past all the yachts and I realized we were already on the boat we were to be drinking on. Twas a cold night.

Yeah I don't see the appeal of owning and maintaining a boat. Heck even if i was loaded I'd have to really like the sea.

11 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You're going too fast!

11 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Friend of mine keeps their boat ike this. Call an hour in advance and it's in the water waiting, without the disadvantaged of keeping it in a well.

11 months ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

So cool

11 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

im poor, what's the disadvantages of keeping it in a well?

11 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Usually comes out haunted by long black haired chicks with a penchant for VHS tapes.

11 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Well for one, it's usually cheaper than keeping it in a marina. For two, it cuts down on exposure to sun and rain and your boat doesn't spend as much time sitting in the water. Boats are obviously designed to be exposed to all these things but all these things are still inherently destructive to materials and so a lot of the cost of owning a boat goes to maintenance caused by that stuff.

11 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Keeping it in the water allows barnacles and other marine life to grow on the hull. Unless you use special paint, which is expensive and has to be reapplied every few years. I had a boat for years. The only way I’d have another one is if it was stored like this.

Show us the machine, please.

11 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

11 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Fookin hell

11 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Much smaller than I assumed. Probably heavy as hell though.

11 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The forks are massive, still

11 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

3x 300Hp outboards. How fast does that thing go on the flat water lol?

11 months ago | Likes 199 Dislikes 2

Almost as fast as one with 4 or 5 300hp's

11 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yes

11 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

That's a competition bay boat. It will do 80+ easily. And they actually run better with some chop rather than smooth water.

11 months ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 2

Is that Jeremy Clakrson's boat?

11 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That's a friggin cartel boat 🤣

11 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

2 engines are fake and suffed with drugs

11 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

At least 3

11 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

30, 30 speed

11 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Just needs to be faster than the coast guard or the dea

11 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

fast enough to make it to the fuel dock.

11 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My ex-friend had one of these (or maybe 400s) and honestly it was mildly terrifying flying across the water to outrun a storm.

11 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Not necessarily about speed. Joystick control iirc needs a minimum of three engines to work correctly. Especially in the case of the boat not having bow thrusters.

11 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm guessing in 65 to 75 mpr range. Very nice looking boat from what you can see. More of a day boat than speed boat

Hmm, the Planet Express ship works in a similar fashion.

11 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Somewhere between very fast and Mach Jesus

11 months ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

OK Mach Jesus is my new favorite fast phrase...

11 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I can almost guarantee you that the thing it does best is consume gasoline

11 months ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

And prob break / leak at the worst tim

11 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

not a boat expert by any means, but top speed depends as much on the hull design (due to drag) as the engine power. something like that center console, triple outboard in the video might approach 60 mph flat out.

11 months ago | Likes 47 Dislikes 0

Thats a 100mph boat.

11 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Don't forget the type of prop too!

11 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Lol 60? That's a competition bay boat. Easily 80+ and they actually run better on a little chop than on smooth water. They probably have $350-400k in that thing.

11 months ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 4

I didn't know about bay boats, but I knew in bass boats 60 mph is slow. So I assumed that number might be low.

11 months ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

They're like bass boats as far as the rapid hull design developments and engine/prop combos, just way more expensive. That was a mild one. A guy I work with fishes a lot of tournaments on the Texas coast and is part owner of one with 3 450s on it. It was $680k new. It tops out around 95 mph.

11 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Right so at the point where the water might as well be concrete if you get thrown from the boat.
