I want this...pretty bad.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This is Imgur's new fetish, isn't it?

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Where do people get UV lights?

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

In brightest day, in blackest night. Be sure to place your spoon on the right.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

how work

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah..... How's that second tongue coming along?

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

WHY THE FUCK DO ALL THESE IMUGURIANS HAVE CHERNOBYLWARE?!?!

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

What did you filthy bastards do to the dinnerware?!

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Put your dick in it

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

TIL Imgur kinda has a raging hard-on for weird antiques that may or may not give you radiation poisoning

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Count me in.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Vintage goodness. So much cooler than plastic stars on the roof.

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Why does everyone have uranium shit all of a sudden!

11 years ago | Likes 66 Dislikes 0

Touch it and say "OZ!" Just to see what happens

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Wtf is up with all these Uranium glassware posts? A little help from the gallery

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Am I the only person who doesn't own radioactive glassware?

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yes. It appears so.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

thats why i don't clean my dishes with cascade

11 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 1

I got your chain reaction pun, just wanted you to know someone did.

11 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

apparently it is also referred to as vaseline glass - I won't comment on the implications...

Something something... if your brave enough

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

A lot of it isn't uranium antiques, but modern non-poisonius stuff: http://glowinc.com/glow-in-the-dark/glow-glass.aspx

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The fact some was made with a yellow hue that looked greasy like vasaline?

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'll comment on them. You should take them

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I was waiting for this comment.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah. It comes in other colors as well. Like red and a creamy white color.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Teehee. Uranium.

11 years ago | Likes 46 Dislikes 0

Wh.. whose ranium?

11 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

One Guy One Cup

11 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Plot twist: Not uranium; cat piss.

11 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 2

Not cat piss.......human bodily secretion.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

why does everyone have a black light ?

11 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Because you can buy them from your discount store

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think you should probably ask an adult that question.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

College?

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

To detect pelvic sorcery.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

why am i sexually attracted to this?

11 years ago | Likes 42 Dislikes 3

Dunno, but I am too.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

That...that is a real puzzler.

11 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

I am sexually attracted to this and all glow in the dark things

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I guess phosphorescent green is your fetish.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I gon die Marie curie style

11 years ago | Likes 111 Dislikes 2

I read that in a strong American accent. 'Mare-EE Q-REE.'

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

I am fairly sure a Murican accent don't exest. Damnit.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

*dine

11 years ago | Likes 46 Dislikes 0

They both work.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This made me laugh in a really dorky way

11 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Do you want cancer? Cause that's how you get cancer.

11 years ago | Likes 98 Dislikes 44

They are safe to own, but eating of them is still risky considering that your skin isn't Gin gonna protect you from the inside.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 10

also the fact that broken glass is sharp.

11 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

The only people that would've possibly gotten cancer from these are the ones who produced them, and they all dead anyway.

11 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

No. Due to the long half life, the specific radioactivity of Uranium is 12440 kBq/kg. As only up to 2% of the glass is U, (1)

11 years ago | Likes 82 Dislikes 1

well, i have no idea what this means, but you seemed confident in saying it... so i believe you?

11 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

the radioactivity from the K in your body with 4 kBq is probably higher. But if you eat the glass, instead of eating off it...

11 years ago | Likes 63 Dislikes 0

*wipes the cum off the screen* wow.. that was.. amazing..

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Actually about 3% for the majority of uranium glass. But yeah it is safe.

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

SCIENCE!

11 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

You ded

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

FYI: The glowing is only visible with a black light and the glass is negligibly radioactive... - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uranium_glass

11 years ago | Likes 150 Dislikes 1

Further more uranium is an alpha emitter, which means its radiation can be blocked by dead skin cells. It's only dangerous when ingested.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Neat

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

"although some 20th-century pieces were made with up to 25% uranium" not all are completely safe but most. ^^

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You get a similar glow when shining a blacklight on my bedspread.

11 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

zing!

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I still wouldnt want it near me. Negligible or not.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Imagine the awesome dinner parties.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

This looks more like tritium than uranium

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Actually it's still unsafe to eat from. The food will be irradiated by it and can easily cause cancer. Safe to look at though.

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 18

11 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

by your skin, so since its going in your stomach, the minor radiation not only directly affects your internal organs, but exposes them 2/3

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

radioactive particles that they are not normally exposed to 3/3 ill dig up sources later if you demand them.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

You are aware we are blasted with radiation every moment of every day, right?

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

yes, i also know that there are different type of radiation and your skin blocks some types. also a source of radiation inside you isnt good

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

a ton of sources ive heard say its not safe to eat off of them as the food becomes irradiated with particles that are normally blocked 1/2

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

means provide a source. You saying "a ton of sources" is not providing a source.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

so not sure how different it is from fiesta ware but, http://chemistry.about.com/od/nuclearchemistry/fl/How-Radioactive-Is-Fiesta-Ware.htm

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

theres one source. im assuming that those alpha particles are also being emitted by this glassware, and can contaminate food.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What does negligibly mean?

11 years ago | Likes 39 Dislikes 6

It means OP can't spell.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

according to the wiki, barely above background radiation levels.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

4 Bananas or something?

11 years ago | Likes 0 Dislikes 0

Little enough that the amount can be disregarded

11 years ago | Likes 77 Dislikes 0

Your accuracy's refreshing.

11 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 1

What can I say I love me some words

11 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

These types of glass are 2-25% uranium by volume weight. With basic shielding, radiation exposure is lower. Long term prob might ensue

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

as in it really won't matter. as in Grand Central Station is radioactive, but negligibly, so it doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things

11 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Dict">ary.c">m">Dict">ary.com">Dictionary.com, Thesaurus.com, Etymonline.com, you'll learn a ton of new things if you take those into your information quest regularly. YW.

I like you.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

google. google is what it means

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

A shit ton of things are radioactive. Like sedementary rock in mountainous regions. The amound of radiation though is so minimal it does [1]

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

[2] nothing to you because its a drop in the ocean compared to what you get every day anyways.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Also bananas and people.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

get depressed from being inadequate.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As small as OP's penis.

11 years ago | Likes 52 Dislikes 2

Well, not thaat negligible.

11 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Just a question op, did you buy this? Been looking for it in belgium, hard tot find and pretty expensive. Beautiful set!

11 years ago | Likes 502 Dislikes 0

Plenty on Aussie ebay for what I would consider a reasonable price. However I am neither a collector of glassware or uranium glassware.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You're looking for uranium? Found the ISIS member!

11 years ago | Likes 50 Dislikes 4

There's a lot out there that's not expensive antiques (nor valuable).http://glowinc.com/glow-in-the-dark/glow-glass.aspx

11 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 2

Start looking at second hand websites. I just checked some out in The Netherlands and found quite a lot.

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I found a lot of individual pieces, like vases, but no real dining sets in Belgium.. Thanks for the tip!

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Hey, if you live in Flanders you can go to the flea market in Kemmel (in September), a huge flea market. maybe with some luck...

11 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Zal ik zeker eens proberen, bedankt :D

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Zonet op Kapaza ook een paar setjes zien staan! ;-)

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Start checking thrift stores and yard sales. Bring a uv(blacklight) flashlight with you. Alot of people sell it without knowing what it is.

11 years ago | Likes 200 Dislikes 1

What is it?

What is what?

Rommelmarkten? Brocanteriewinkels?

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah, I would have assumed it was just Depression glass. UV light is a good idea.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Shit. *a lot

11 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Haha haha! I love those alot comics.

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

i was going to post one in response but was on my mobile!

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Don't you tell me how much to poop!

11 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Yeah, taking a UV light to a thrift store is a great idea.

11 years ago | Likes 212 Dislikes 1

Actually I had a game that came with a tiny flashlight type keychain, but it was a UV flash light (so they do exist very small)

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

And suddenly I want to donate all of my clothes and bedding to a thrift store.

11 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Well you will probably see plenty of things glow that aren't uranium, but at least you'll know what not to touch.

11 years ago | Likes 101 Dislikes 0

That's just ectoplasm. No worries! Tis a Feature.

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

But, hell, it was 99 cents!

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0
