Roughly three months into President Donald Trump’s second term, White evangelical Protestants continue to be among his strongest supporters:

72% approve of the way Trump is currently handling his job as president.
69% rate the ethics of top Trump administration officials as excellent or good.
57% say they trust what Trump says more than what previous presidents said.

Well, in a few weeks they’ll be unemployed or losing their farms so they’ll have lots of time to take turns sucking off their golden calf.

Poll white evangelicals participating in an MLM scheme and I bet you get those numbers up another 10-15%. They've finally succeeded in building a political party out of the country's dumbest marks. https://thebaffler.com/salvos/the-long-con

Evangelicalism is a death cult. They want bad things to happen. Trump is making bad things happen.

11 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I mean, he's their dream, so of course? They've been trying to destroy democracy and replace it with christofascism for decades.

Hispanic Catholics 26%. How many are white with 1/4th Hispanic blood claiming to be Hispanic for this poll.

11 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

There are money changers in the church, for sure...

11 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

So the most gullible people in the US believe the propaganda? What a surprise.

11 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Lot of white evangelical are on govt aid. And Trump's fixing to cut medicaid. I think walmart swung a deal w trump to avoid china tariffa, but there's still rising costs in general. Trump and friends will find some way to blame minorities for issues or something to keep stringjng these cultusts along.

Make religious nutbar's opinions irrelevant again.

11 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I mean, yeah. Before the election even the Project 2025 people described what's going on now as the Second American Revolution and said "it will be bloodless if you allow it to be". No wonder they strongly support Trump. Sounds like in their mind the war has already started and they're winning. https://www.politico.com/news/2024/07/04/leader-of-the-pro-trump-project-2025-suggests-there-will-be-a-new-american-revolution-00166583

My mother is Asian and very religious and keeps voting for him because she's been convinced by her church and Fox that her party is the Christian party. I take every opportunity to explain to her that legislation is about how the government operates, and that most Democrats are also Christian. And that she should vote on real issues and not her homophobia because voting won't make gay people disappear, but she could lose her retirement, as well my father's VA disability pension.

Evangelical just means moronic bigot now

11 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This explains the pandering to religion. I mean, not the actions. Just the pandering.

11 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Then there’s us black people just chillin with those high disapprovals. If you can count on anything it’s on us just straight up hating that piece of shit.

You can always expect the African-American community to keep it as real as possible

11 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

I grew up Catholic and came to the conclusion around 18 that all church leadership is corrupt in ways that directly contradict their teachings, but maybe I should have been going to a Black Protestant church

26% of religiously unaffiliated liking how trump is handling things? that seems like a really high number, are that many of atheists tech-bros?

11 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Some of the unaffiliated might be so because they find all the current Cristo-fascist churches too liberal.

11 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

White Evangelicals are just evil.

11 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

40% of adults in the USA support this absolute fool...

What he has done is just unforgivably bad and unsavory side effects are already being felt. This is not the great economy he promised. Of course it isn't. At least he admitted that his statement about lowering prices on "Day One" was an exaggeration. 😳🤪 No, it was more like an outright lie. He lies about everything. Why would anyone vote for a proven serial liar?

Do you want Christofascism because this is how you get Christofascism.

11 months ago | Likes 173 Dislikes 2

*Got.

11 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

evangelicals -are- fascists

11 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

We already got it

11 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

White evangelicals are not Christians. They just want everyone else to be forced to adopt their own cultish beliefs.!

11 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

well duh...what do you think america first means. white america

11 months ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Exactly

11 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Unfortunately, too many would answer that as "yes". Not realizing that "those" Christofascists and "these" Christofascists are gonna be turning on each other as soon as they run out of more-obvious people to other.

11 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

White evangelical -is- Christo-fascism

11 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

They absolutely want christofascism. They've been waiting 40 years for this. There truly is no hate like Christian love.

Hail Satan

11 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

HAIL

11 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yes, that’s what they want, hence the approval

11 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

And the makeup of the Senate and the Electoral College WAY-overrepresent white evangelicals, so nothing is going to change.

11 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Of course the Christofascist's want the Antichrist in charge. I believe it's called the crusades.

11 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Anyone who voted for Trump is not a Christian.

11 months ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 3

Technically, I think I could agree with that statement if we imply Christian means “followers of the teachings of Jesus Christ,” because we have irrefutable proof the people they vote take actions that directly oppose the teachings of Jesus. Again, I believe we need to start separating Christianity into Old Testament Christians and New Testament Christians because there is a BIG difference

11 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Old Testament Christians? When you quote Leviticus as Gods Law and say that they are rules we must follow because they are what God or Jesus wants us to do. What you are really saying, as a Christian, is that Christs sacrifice on the cross was invalid. He died in vain because you are still beholden to the old laws. That is what you, as a self-professed good Christian, are saying to you God and his son, that their plan for your salvation was not good enough for you.

11 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The most accurate working definition of the word Christian is someone who tells you how other Christians aren't *real* Christians.

11 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Its pretty clear that Trump is about as far away from being a shining light for Christianity as you can get. The man has no redeeming qualities at all, so anyone who votes for him based on religous ideals has a very different idea of what the teachings of Jesus has to me. Personally, Mathew 22 37:40 covers all i need.

11 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You have a much, much, much higher opinion of Christianity than I do. I'll be nice and drop it at that.

11 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Im an athiest, but i do find it interesting.

11 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I’m sorry, how is this news? The election demographic results have been pretty much unchanged since 2016. If you wanted the highest chance of finding a trumper, start with a group of white Protestant married men over 45 years old.

11 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

the are radically overrepresented electorally though, so...

11 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Despite the fact everything about MAGA is decidedly un-Christian

11 months ago | Likes 101 Dislikes 2

Real Christianity doesn't exist anymore. That is what Christianity is now. Not that it wasn't anything but evil for the last 1000 years anyway.

11 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Everyone I know who self-describes as an evangelical Christian is very un-Christlike.

11 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

*Looks at history* Uh....

11 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

To be fair, so are at *least* 99% of the people I've ever met who self-described themselves as evangelical Christians.

11 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

thats why its popular woth evangelist. money makes you holy, poor is the only sin.

11 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

'Christian' is just a label for an extreme right wing social grouping at this point.

11 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Trump literally cut major funding to Meals On Wheels, so he is directly taking food out of the mouths of the disabled and elderly—I’m quite certain Jesus explicitly stated to do the exact opposite! They defunded USAID, which has confirmed a result that already 300 babies in Africa that could have been born without HIV if given proper medicine (as they were receiving before the budget slashing) were now born with HIV. Jesus said to heal the sick, not make people sick!

11 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oh, but it is all about the very most important thing to political Christians: MAGA asserts that Christianity is special and Christians are foremost among America’s citizens, that non-Christians are second-class, or worse. Nothing could be more “Christian” than that, in their minds.

11 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So is everything about evangelical Christianity.

11 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Which just proves they never actually read the Bible or tried to understand it.

Numbers 31:17-18

11 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oh, that old gem.

11 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The thing with gop is that despite claiming to be pro constitution and Bible, they constantly misinterpret both texts, intentionally and maliciously.

11 months ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

That or they’ve never really read it or understood the message.

11 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The voter group as a whole never read either text, but are fed lies by people who have read both to fit their narrative in an effort to guide the voters.

11 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Evangelicals are anti-Christian.

11 months ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 0

They believe in power, not compassion

11 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The prosperity Gospel is about worshiping wealth and privilege, not God and Christ.

The christo-fascists don't get a say in our government. They can keep to their own enclaves like Waco or Jonestown.

Well except that they are better at democracy than the pro-democracy groups, which is why they control most of the country.

also, I'm guessing you don't realize how many of your neighbors are christian nationalists.

11 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Pretty sure they're the ones running the government now.

11 months ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

yup
