Superheated steel ball placed in cold chocolate milk. Milk comes to a boil as heat transfers from the ball to the milk. Despite the ball coming out looking dull, it is still very hot.
I had IBS before they removed mine about two weeks ago, so this was everyday. I could actually stomach two Culver's Butterburgers with no problem. Now potato chips... Well, my main doctor says I need to cut down on red meat, cheese, and grease because of recent cholesterol increases.
In 1993 when Demolition man was released, both brands were owned by PepsiCo, so I assume Pepsi did some sort of promotional funding for the film. Apparently Europe was not blessed with Taco Bell locations at the time, so Pizza Hut was overdubbed in the Euro release. PepsiCo spun off their various restaurant brands into Tricon Global Restaurants in 1997, which later became Yum! Brands in 2002 when it merged with Yorkshire Global Restaurants.

The surgeon told me to avoid greasy meals after having my gallbladder removed... when I ignored him, this was pretty much the result.

On another note, impressive the glass did not break.
JohnnyLawlessEsq
Might also just be that the sphere would only have a maximum of two very tiny contact points with the glass.
AirshipNavigator
But, where's the duck? I hear the duck, but don't see the duck.
BritishBenzene
Might the due to the leidenfrost effect. The boiling liquid creates a layer that the ball basically floats on, insulating the glass.
MultiFacets
Thanks for explaining! I'm now one of today's lucky ten thousand.

MultiFacets
Aw, thank you! It was the only appropriate response, and I really was pleased to learn something.

Additionally, glass also usually cracks when heating is uneven, so being prefilled with liquid likely distributes the heat more evenly too.
BritishBenzene
Good point.
p4plus2
Specifically, you have a thicker bottom and thin walls. This creates different expansion/contraction rates and induces stress in the glass.
