Not gonna lie feel like you're deceiving yourself somewhere along the wayIt's physically impossible to eat below maintenance and not lose weight. Regardless of you exercise. Your body would have to be the holy grail of efficiency for that to work out at all and I highly doubt it is.Its more likely you just eat more than 1500 calories a day. Anything else would be a miracle and God hasn't been doing those for like a thousand years

Dogs dont just get fat when they dont excercise in the same way humans dont. Its 90% their diet and those 90% are 100% the humans responsibility. Also graying early can be caused by obesity.While i do agree that older dogs can pack the weight on more easily and the same is true for neutered dogs, i have never seen a dog get overweight to this degree just because of those factors, so i am pretty certain it's just the owners stuffing its little face because "he looks so sad"
If you like obese dogs having joint issues at 5 years old and dying at 8 when their life expectancy would have been 12-16 then i dont want anything to do with you

I dont give a shit in general what researchers think, cause what's the reason to try to say dogs are self aware or not in the first place. In general my dog is very excited seeing other dogs and never once got excited seeing herself in the mirror, generally there's no reaction at all at best she occasionally looks at me through a mirror and when i show her a treat through a mirror she comes running to me and doesnt try to get into the mirror or anything. i think reasonable to assume she gets it
My dog understands mirrors even though she's pretty dense otherwise, so i would say yes to the first question at least.
