My wife was sent a death threat earlier today because she asked people to stop circulating the AI version of this image. Folks are understandably heated about this, but we do need to be careful about using AI images, because they draw everything in the image into question.

If you think this is bad, it gets worse: the part that they aren't saying out loud is when they challenge the validty of same-sex marriages, and then get to deny treatment to LGBTQ+ service members.

Oh, beagles can be super lazy. They generally lay around or snuggle, that is, until they spot a squirrel, rodent. Or suspicious looking plastic bag.
Every day. On all of my walks. The neighbors don't even look outside anymore.
You've got a whole pack of sniffers! Beagle is sort of my family dog, they're such great people-focused dogs. Excellent companions. Glad you're giving them the chance to feel a sense of family.

Brother (or sister), my story is almost the same. Together 19 years, 7 months. She died in her sleep next to me on Feb 3 this year, after a 16-year battle with cancer. I'm spinning still, not sure what life alone is anymore. If you have nothing else, you've got my sympathy and understanding.
I get the intention of these posts is to innocently garner conversation, but they make me unreasonably angry.
The gentle pat is the best part.
As a literature lover, I completely agree. The fact is that Twain was openly mocking people who thought and talked like that. As a former teacher, I can understand using the sanitized language because I want the students to focus on the speaker's intent, rather than make them repeatedly read a slur that is still leveled against a great number of those students.
Recent widower here. The loneliness is real, missing physical intimacy is hard-to-scratch itch. Remember, whatever choice you make, the person you invite in will be competing with your personal peace, and they should compliment or enhance it, not disrupt your solace.

I once saw him speak live. He is unequivocal - no tolerance for intolerance. Passivity is the worst thing you can do in the face of fascism, because fascists interpret it as compliance.
My wife was severely disfigured by oral cancer. Little kids called her a witch, adults stared slackjawed. "Why do you stay with her?" Because I love her. "Don't you get tired of taking care of her, don't you want something easier?" Yes, but I love her.
Just lost my wife Monday. She was the better part of me, and I'm not sure who I will be without her.
