"If bad things happen it's the Democrats' fault for not stopping it!"
Literally far too many people think this way, and the news media frames it in that manner because they're terrified to blame Republicans. It's all sorts of fucked up.

Shit, how about just diverting even SOME of the money that's currently going to corrupt fucking oligarchs to useful things.

Y'know, this kind of points out just how awful the average American voter is that they don't pay attention to stuff like this. Sure, Democrats are suckers for continuing to fall into that trap, but holy fuck isn't that what they're SUPPOSED to be doing - like, actually trying to help the American people? Yet people still fucking vote for Republicans who fuck them over time and again.

I read somewhere that they basically thought Iran would just roll over the way Venezuela did. Hah.

To be fair, I was in the Army, and it's sort of a moral obligation to mock the shit out of the other services, just as they all mock us.

The video is also noticeably sped up to make it look like it's moving faster. Still really cool though.

What gets me is that all of this shit makes the case that countries NEED to get nukes, because the only ones not getting fucked with are those like Russia and North Korea, who've got nukes. Those without, like Iran or Libya or Iraq or Syria, you're fair game.
Meanwhile, the USA is also busy convincing our erstwhile allies that we're now entirely unreliable in a diplomatic/military/etc sense, which is pushing many of them to start thinking maybe they need nukes, too...

It originates from the feudal era, yes. And to some degree they were better educated (or educated period), but by no means guaranteed to be more capable. Even today in the USA some of the traditions linger, like the requirements for Officers to have bachelor's degrees, and the general association with those old traditions, and officers having more privileges/better treatment/etc compared to enlisted.

It's because they're not interested in drawing conclusions from evidence. They already have the answer they want, they're just looking for ways to justify that answer, and will make up excuses to ignore any evidence to the contrary.

Well, Trump is pretty rank, given how often he seems to shit himself lately, that's for sure.

Let's be real and remember it's more than that, because he/they wanted to do this shit in the first place, too.

I like Texas-style BBQ, I just prefer to get it outside Texas.

So the tldr - and what really gets me about all this - is that the "capitalism" the Right is pushing is hardcore ultra capitalism uber alles, which we were all taught how it fucked everything up at the end of the 19th and early 20th century. We just learned it by a different name, Laissez-Faire. But these greedy fucks have tried to turn back the clock.
Capitalism is a tool, and a dangerous one if misused, but it -can- be a useful one, IF carefully and heavily regulated to prevent abuse.

If you're on the geeky side, consider cosplay. Even if you don't do specific characters, there's all sorts of styles such as Renaissance (Festival), Regency, or Steampunk, to go nuts with.

"But some people are saying this!"

Listen, some people insist the earth is flat. Just because someone says something doesn't mean there's any veracity to it at all, because people outright lie sometimes. News media of all people ought to know and act accordingly, and the fact that they aren't is damn near journalistic malpractice, if not outright so.

Yeah, it's basically that the shit he did was so popular it infected the country. He struck at just the right time, and rode the 80s wave of recovery from the stagflation seventies. And he successfully saddled Carter with the blame for that, despite it being engineered by Nixon's and Ford's policies, while Carter put the changes in place to fix it even though they were painful at first. Reagan further juiced things by cutting taxes and engaging in massive deficit spending, so...

You're coming from wrong frame of reference. For you, your government wants people to have identification, and will make sure you all have it. That's not the case in the USA, because the goal here isn't about making sure people have ID and are who they are, it's on making it harder for "certain people" to vote. They do this alongside other things, like cutting locations and hours for Licensing offices, closing the ones in majority black/poor areas, etc.

...will absolutely ignore the actual needs of anyone but the ultra-wealthy, and maybe the bigots, all the while gaslighting people that the "REAL" problems are those woke minority LGBT immigrants having abortions paid for by welfare.

The important thing though is that Democrats by and large can be persuaded, by voter support, to do stuff. If there is sufficient groundswell of public support on an issue, they'll push for it. This isn't perfect, and it tends to require actually voting enough Democrats into office (people somehow act shocked that very little gets accomplished when there's a bare majority that relies on some conservative Democrat, etc - it shouldn't be a surprise). But it does work. Meanwhile, Republicans...

Yeah, this right here. Leaders that are willing to get in the trenches right alongside you are leaders people will follow, because they're worth following.

Funny how this is exactly the same sort of shit that domestic abusers try to pull.

Why do I have a distinct feeling the Venn diagram between them and ICE agents is near to a perfect circle?

Nice work on the improvements! It's always great to see a cosplay go from good to spectacular, and that extra work and effort paying off. :)

One trick I've seen people do is make the entire torso as the outfit. That is, using fake skin-tone fabrics/material, complete with fake breasts/etc, along with the "outfit" attached, so that it's basically a shirt you wear, and you're never in danger of any wardrobe malfunctions. It's also great for colder weather too, although maybe not so great for summer heat, but usually for those conventions you're staying indoors in the AC anyway.

Money is not Speech.
Money is an amplifier for speech, that lets you carry a message to more people, or even drown out other messages (speech).
Political use of Money to affect Speech should very much be regulated, because it allows preference and promotion of some Speech over others, and can effectively deny others their speech.

Thing is though, you're able to change those big parties. We've got much more progressive sorts in the Democrats, and the reason they don't take over isn't simply because the evil DNC won't let them, it's because not enough people vote for them. Sure, the wealthy are trying to sway things, but part of the problem has been the preference of too many voters for Reagan's economic fuckery over the past 40 years, and thus preferring Republicans or Clintonian Third-Way Dems.
