Is there a rule in American superhero comics that determines which words should be in bold? It always looks so random to me.

By the way, your translation "water calf" is not so wrong. The Bahkauv is also called Badekalb ("bath calf"), which means there are different interpretations what "bah" means.

Bah (regional dialect) <-> Bach (Standard German) (creek, beck)
Kauv, Kouv (regional dialect) <-> Kalb (Standard German) (calf)

Director watches 1980s Transformers show.
Director: "Nice design, but I have a better idea. Let's make all Transformers look like grey lumps of metal"

Actually, Hitler respected Spaniards.

Unlike other comics you sometimes see here, this is really nicely drawn. I just visited the author's website, and there's also a comic called Pepper & Carrot. It all looks very professional, with original character designs and excellent execution. How could I have missed this?

Fun fact 2: when a computer is "booting" (short for "bootstrap loading") it is doing the "impossible" task of loading a program (the operating system) without having a program to load it.

I had a colleague who came too late to a meeting with a German client because understanding "viertel vor zehn" / "viertel nach zehn" / "viertel zehn" correctly with a bad cell phone connection is difficult.

We are still talking about the "blood vessel" analogy of mercyPandaRunner, correct? I don't how it works in NL, but where I live (still Western Europe), you can find streets where the local transformer was dimensioned for 3kVA per house (average, obviously).

In Europe, around 60% of photovoltaic capacity comes from rooftop installations. Perhaps because there is not much space for solar parks here. Or because of various incentives by the government (which have been reduced in several countries in recent years). Most of these installations feed the grid. This may change as batteries have become cheaper.

But that does not necessarily mean that the Romans chose the name (like the user in OP's screenshot claimed). There are many rivers with names like "Aa", "Aar", etc., which just means "water".

Have you noticed that the reflection has snow?

Like Hexarcy00, I was very disappointed by his video about electricity. By coincidence, a topic that I know well. And now I am wondering what else he gets wrong in his other videos that are about topics I don't know well.

I still have my silver RX-385 + KX-380 + CDX-480. Such a clear front panel design.

Loibner is several levels above everyone else. Insane control and solid knowledge of different music traditions.

By the way, did you know that the words ham/home/Heim/... and the word "situation" have the same origin? (an indo-european word for "home", "to settle")

But the pieces are so small and only decorative nowadays. For Christmas, I looked at some models in the shop and there were 20cm models where I would have estimated a price of 40 Euro (or USD) and then I was shocked to see it was 65 or more. Yes, every stud was covered with some 1x1, so there were a lot of pieces, but that's somehow not the same.

I don't believe all the explanations that are now being given for Trump's election victory. "Men feel their masculinity is threatened", "Boys lack role models", "Democrats fail to appeal to youth", "Eggs too expensive", "The general public doesn't identify with wokeness", .... All excuses. They should just tell the truth: 60% of Americans want Trump. Racist, slimy, incompetent, rapist.

Saying type 2 is caused by diet & lifestyle can be misleading. A significant number of patients (10 to 20%) exercise and have a normal BMI. Because of their genetical predisposition, they can get type 2 despite a (Western) normal lifestyle. You can say that their lifestyle caused it (i.e. they could have prevented it by a lower than normal BMI), but that's like saying that hay fever is caused by lifestyle ("just stop going outside").

Isn't that a rather useless metric because it depends on the price politics and product strategy of a single company?

EV cars from several Chinese car sharing companies that went bankrupt after a few years. The cars are all used, more than 5 years old, and unsaleable as they are technically obsolete. Big waste of resources.
