It's like the "can you define what a woman is" of geopolitics
Buddy, what's with the attitude? Yes I know what a search engine is, and I searched both LCI and the general's name before commenting and I found nothing. I went to the channel LCI and I saw nothing there, I even typed in the name Yakovleff into the search function and the last video that appears (for me) is from last year.
Is there a link to the video?
For those not in the know, this song is famously difficult even for experienced drummers. The speed, the syncopated rhythm, combined with the fact that the feet are playing 3/4 while the hands are playing 4/4. Tomas Haake, the original drummer, had to change his entire pedal technique and spent months learning it. And he's a drummer's drummer. For someone to pull this song off so flawlessly and effortlessly is damn impressive.
haha women amirite
Something is off with the fur. AI?
But ultimately, maybe making the case for paper straws is useless. I'm not dying on that hill, I can tell you that much. I also want to believe regular people can make an impact, because me sorting my waste into different bins and shopping in thrift stores is a thing I can do in my everyday life. But me putting pressure on my politicians seems overwhelming.
You raise good points and I don't disagree. I find myself swinging back and forth between optimism and pessimism, and between "all of us need to chip in" and "regular people can't enact systemic change without clear commitment from governments and companies". I sometimes try to make the case that banning plastic straws is not bad because I don't WANT for people to feel like nothing is being done, because hopelessness also isn't good.
You know, as depressing as it is, I can't disagree.
I mean, I agree, but I don't think any religious people care. They believe their gods are eternal. Religious people are famously immune to reason.
#34 gotta be honest I think this picture is no fun at all and just mean.
Not to be that guy but neither "madam" or "mister" are pronouns, so would they even be affected by that vote? Obviously fuck the conservative culture war bs but just because THEY don't know what a pronoun is doesn't mean WE shouldn't.
They're good characters Bront <3
Not to detract from any of your points, but I think a big problem with how humans treat the environment can be summarized by "death by a thousand cuts". It's not JUST the straws, but our culture of having everything be available to everyone at all times everywhere. Food, fast fashion, convenience. Small things that are essentially part of bigger things. I completely agree serious changes are needed, and reducing single use plastic can be part of them
The primordial soup also looked like mid-to-late-90's-style animation. I base this on nothing but vibes and it's not like believing it hurts anyone.
When I'm in a "having absolute dogshit takes contest" and my opponent is Sam Altman:
Can't believe it was necessary to write a Snopes article about that one lmao
Makes me think of this album cover: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2urEwtqT2rE

Dang I miss Psaki in the White House, and I'm not even American
All of those subtle shaky movements really sell it, like how her head moves. Seriously impressive.
Thanks for elaborating. Reading your comment I realized that I actually have no research to point to regarding the idea that murder becomes more likely if the punishment is death anyway. I read the argument somewhere and thought it sounded reasonable, but maybe it isn't very likely, as you say. Hard to know for sure I guess
I've read your comment, and just to make sure I understand you correctly - are you saying the argument "death penalty is a bad idea for rape because it would encourage the rapist to also murder" is invalid because murders are more likely to be investigated? Genuine question, because sometimes nuance can be difficult to interpret from a text comment. If that is what you're saying, then I'll admit I hadn't thought of that. For the record, I am against the death penalty.
You don't pull off her kind of fashion choices without an insane amount of confidence, and confidence is attractive. I don't even know her public persona and I can't remember seeing her in any movies, but judging purely by photos of her she just radiates otherworldly confidence
Also, when the penalty is the same as for murder, the rapists might as well murder their victims so there's no witness.

Good, fuck them. French police are notoriously brutal. The modern French police was founded by a nazi collaborator (who lied about being a part of the resistance) and honed his brutality in Algeria: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maurice_Papon
lmao
I don't get it
what's my man imhotep got to do with this?
