Birder and photographer from North Texas. I take photos of birds and landscapes and share my favorites on imgur.

I suppose you'd be right. That would make it an Spotted Unspotted Spotted Sandpiper?

Thank you very much! I got super lucky that he was so patient and not worried about me.

He's a Spotted Sandpiper. Since he's in winter plumage he's missing his spots right now, but they'll be in by spring :)

They simultaneously came into existence the moment the first barn was raised. Great question! :)

They sure are. Its really neat when you happen to see one that has landed a get time to really look.

Thanks! The photo doesn't do it justice. That color really pops when you see it. They call it the "Flame of Spring".

If you notice a gull giving away all of his fish and not enjoying laughing like before. These could be signs.

Gull depression is no laughing matter.

Wow, that's pretty far from home! Amazing! I bet some birders were super excited about that sighting. Thanks for sharing.

They do have some similarities. This bird has a white eye ring and pink conical bill. HOSP has no eye ring, round head, stout bill.

Haha, I have seen them there for sure but in this particular case they were in a parking lot near a local lake.

The Red-headed woodpecker has a head that is completely covered in deep red so they got the name. These got named for their light red belly.

According to field guides they pass through during migration but i've never seen one.
