FFS can't we have "normal" for a change? Just for a few years, pleeease.
2020-2022 covid -> fuel 2,8€/liter.
Right after, that one idiot starts shit in Ukraine, again fuel up to 2,8€/liter.
And now, just as we started getting back to bearable 1,5€ ish... orange moron starts another war.
If we had a colony on another planet, I'd be on my way there already.

Well, yea, that is a good question. How much does he actually control and how much he just follows someone whispering into his ear.

Yea, he's not the type to gather a cult around him. He's just as spineless as any other yes-man around the turd, but he completely lacks any charisma.

He's mean and evil, but also incredibly dumb and impulsive. What I fear is what happens when another mean and evil, but smarter president is elected after him. This person will have an autocratical system built for him and a solid cult ready to follow the new master.

Yea I got that reference. Though I first thought of Kitzmiller v. Dover, but that was about teaching ID.

Weeell... we are kind of also those. In taxonomy we are in the order Catarrhini, which is commonly called "old world monkeys"...

Ooof. This takes me back. Not perfect -> the drill instructor would relocate it to the floor in no time flat.

Neither of those are homeopathic though. Homeopathic medicine is a specific term which does go under "alternative" medicine. Many natural salves and oils are also under that umbrella category, but are not homeopathic. Also, homeopathic medicine has never been shown to have any effect beyond placebo, while many salves have beneficial effects supplementing proper medical care.

But the tariff checks are coming, any day now. For everyone. He's signing those right now. He's got a new pen and all. It just takes a few days. /s

Honestly, if people are really dumb enough to fall for this, they deserve to loose their money. It's just too bad it's going to go to the orange excrement.

Well, to be fair, penguins can swim. So it's possible they might survive a flood without the ark. Koalas and kangaroos on the other hand...

Didn't tell me anything I already didn't know. Germany is doing good progress NOW building green energy. But the order in which things were done is stupid and pumps out massive amounts of pollution in the process. Coal plants are scheduled to shut down by 2038 by law, which is great, but those should have been the 1st to go, not nuclear.

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yea, I know. 2011 was sort of the 'final straw'. I remember that public opinion against nuclear has been growing in Germany ever since 1979 Three Mile Island, and even stronger after Chernobyl. I remember from 90 how groups of protesters stood on rail tracks blocking trains carrying waste of fuel.

My point was that is not dumb to close the old plants down, but it was dumb to do it in this order. Now you are stuck burning coal for decades until you build enough renewable.

Germany is kind of bad example of green energy. They shut down all their nuclear plants because public demand. And now they are the largest coal user in EU. Because people still need electricity, imagine that.

They are rapidly going renewable now, but it takes decades to replace the nuclear output. Should have kept those running until they have enough renewable energy.
