You're right. The first step in any authoritarian regime is to take away the rights of women. And Trump openly brags about helping overturn Roe v Wade. If anyone tells you he's not a threat to society and gives the 'aw shucks' routine then I'm of the mind they are full of shit, gaslighting you, support Trump, or all of the above.

Pretending as though all the people who behave that way suddenly had a change of heart or disappeared because Biden stepped down is bullshit. That's naive. They were loud before and they're loud now. And when you're loudly telling others 'I'm not voting' then there is reasonable influence of getting others to do the same. Ive told others Harris called for a ceasefire and "it's not enough" or "I don't care."
There are a lot of younger people who appear libertarian or possibly even liberal if you have a conversation with them but say they're not going to vote because of Gaza. And they're fucking loud too in thinking they are morally superior somehow and trying to get others to think that way. The problem is: that isn't rational at all and the end result could be ushering in another Trump term.
Those people are apathetic to issues and oppression in their country. Like women having their rights taken away, again this argument is horseshit. The Biden administration already tried to orchestrate a ceasefire. The Trump criminal enterprise would've never even discussed it.

I have self proclaimed liberal friends who have said this. They glorify Kavanaugh skits on SNL. My response is I don't need entertainment value from my president.
